大家好，我有个问题想请教大家。
我的背景是：国内本科在一所名校就读，学的是生物工程和工商管理双学士，有较强的
数学功底和工科背景。然后在国内念了硕士，方向是分子进化，老板在国内是大牛。来
美后在一所普通大学的医学院念生物医学，方向是神经科学，做大脑疾病方面的研究。
读了两年，感觉不太喜欢做实验，而且生物很琐碎，今后就业前景黯淡，看了一些网上
的讨论，感觉对学生物的抱怨特别多。
因为不是非常喜欢生物，想转行，但想结合以前的背景，拿个硕士毕业。网上调查了一
番，感觉自己生物医学信息学比较适合我的背景，能够把以前的知识综合利用起来。而
且这个专业属于交叉学科，历史较短，全美只有二十来所大学能够提供这个专业，毕业
人数不是很多。但是这个专业应用挺广，能够在工业界，医学或者学术界发展。个人想

本人phd刚毕业一个多月，专业方向是biomedical engineering,5月份拿到了Harvard
Medical School 一个医院(BWH)老板的postdoc offer. 合同要求我10/1 开始，所以我
就死命的赶实验，赶thesis, 终于在八月底答辩完，一切graduation paperwork 和
harvard这边入职的 paperwork该签的都在九月份前签了，过渡还算是非常顺利。我之
间也跟这边的老板/小米有过联系，通报了他们我opt拿到了，boston这边房子什么的也
都弄好了，10/1开始没有问题，他们也很高兴，一起好像很happy了。
可是，等我刚刚9/30在boston安顿好了，并通知小米我过来了，他们9/30号晚上告诉我
，我不能开始工作....BWH的HR office 要查新员工的背景资料，这个过程需要至少两
个月！！好笑的是他们还没有开始审查我的材料！！要知道，我大部分的材料在7月份
就发给他们了！！也就是说 我最早开始也要到12月份了！ 很明显，我被他们耍了一把

了医生以后出路很窄，要么做博士后拼科研，要么转行。两者都很艰辛。
如果是biomedical engineering，通常翻译成生物医学工程，出路好一些，但也是工程
学里比较冷门的。这个专业会学一些工程学的课，做的东西更偏应用，但很多实验室其
实也是典型的生物试验室。 |

两个选择基本都是机电一体化方向的
一个老师是做biomedical device design的，主要是一些医疗辅助设备的设计和控制；
另一个老师是做automobile powertain的，主要涉及发动机、电-液压系统方面的研究
，将来估计要找汽车公司之类的工作
我个人觉得biomedical device design方面的前景应该更好，但的确不清楚现在美国就
业方面的形势，请有经验的同学指点一下！多谢！ |

biomedical physics（和radiology多少有些相关）。
但是还不太了解情况，想问一下做biomedical physics以后容易去一些像GE，西门子之
类的生产医疗仪器公司吗？
还有就是美国那个学校的此类program比较好一些。
