我生日快乐!我就要转身大骂.视线被他手上的东西挡住了,不是白菜,是一个盒子,拿盒

今天,我的生日,为了省钱,我准备做两份牛排和老公一起在家吃.牛排是非常次的,非常

对老农民来说，韭菜非常容易种植。对新农民来说，韭菜好像也不是太好种，特别是要
想获得单位面积高产的话，有一定的难度。我种了多年的韭菜，有着丰富的理论知识和
实践经验。不到一平方米的菜地，两周能收割3-4次韭菜。有时自己吃，有时送人，送
不出去的时候就割下来做肥料，或者放在花花草草的边上，用来熏野兔子。
那我是怎么种韭菜的呢？我现在就把我的经验讲一讲，吹一吹，供新农民朋友参考，帮
助大家种出高产和绿色的韭菜，包韭菜饺子吃。
要想种好韭菜，最重要的一条是不要把韭菜当回事。韭菜是什么？韭菜不就是很多人都
喜欢吃，吃了又使人口臭好几天的杂草吗？这么一想，你在心理上就战胜韭菜了，接下
来的就都是技术问题了，比较容易解决。

½ lb. (1 + 3/4 cups) Raw and unsalted sunflower seeds
Soak for 8 hours in purified water.
Rinse and allow to sprout for 1 day.
1 head celery
1 large red onion
4 carrots
3 cloves garlic
2 lemons, juiced
Add lemon juice, celery, garlic and onion to Food Processor. Blend
thoroughly with the S-Blade. Then add the carrots and blend thoroughly

Hummus
1 1/2 cups dried chickpeas, 泡水过夜
1 teaspoon salt
3 garlic cloves,
3/4 cup sesame seed paste,要买去康壳的,叫tahini
1/2 cup fresh lemon juice
Cayenne or hot Hungarian paprika, or even cumin
2 tablespoons chopped parsley
2 teaspoons olive oil
1. 除去过夜水不要，加水煮熟chickpeas, 高压锅15-20分钟，普通锅1个半小时
2. 蒜和盐混合后捣碎，然后和sesame paste一起放入food processer搅拌到发白，加入
1/2 cup lemon junice和煮chickpeas的水,充分搅拌
3. 加入沥干水分的chickpeas 一起搅拌，同时加盐，煮chickpeas的水和lemon juice到
自己喜欢的咸淡和干稀程度。

来了来了，前两天有MM发帖问是更喜欢湘菜还是更喜欢川菜。讨厌，最烦别人问我这个
问题了，都是我的心头最爱，每次选择都要纠结死。早先做了爆炒鸡杂，应该算是湘菜
了，看到那个帖子就开始馋川菜的味道，尤其是馋郫县豆瓣的香味。于是极富行动力的
就立即做了豆瓣鱼！搭配一盘香菇炒上海青，一碟凉拌黄瓜，中午我和P吃得超级开心
，海逮了几大碗米饭下肚！原来这三个菜一起吃是这么的配啊这么的配！！！哈哈哈~~~
说到鱼，在世界最大淡水湖Lake Superior边的Houghton居然很少有新鲜鱼卖，超市里
都是冰冻的鱼肉，没皮没骨没头没尾。每当想吃水煮鱼或者喝鲜鱼汤的时候，就只能看
着冰箱里的冻鱼肉哭笑不得。据说这里很少有卖新鲜鱼有两个原因。第一，在这里几乎
家家都有船和渔具，买个渔证也只需要十几美金，便可以钓一整年的鱼，所以大家都不

发帖数: 2791 | 17 虽然是生在农村长在农村，我还真没什么打理菜地的经验，顶多帮爹妈浇个园子摘摘菜
捉捉虫什么的，但菜农梦算是在我心里扎根了，极其怀念刚摘下来的菜直接进厨房做出
来的味道。
去年秋天终于买房子了。当初看房子的时候我就把有地方种菜作为首要条件，所以看上
现在这个院子里有块四五十平米儿童游乐场的房子。费劲把那些秋千假山滑梯什么的处
理掉，扔掉地上铺着一层厚厚的木屑（我说把这个留着以后混到土里种菜，老公说这些
木屑是经过处理防植物生长的），掀开一层毡布，老天哪，下面是棕红色的粘土，挖一
块晒干可以直接盖房子！
这点困难还是难不倒我们的，果断决定买土添地，反正那块斜坡地是要整平的。打听了
人家给运一卡车土要400多块，没舍得，到沃尔玛去打听，人家说有一些planting soil
袋子有些破损，没人要，5毛一袋便宜处理给我们。我们 一听大喜过望，表示有多少要
多少。谁曾想那么一小块地能吃那么 土，3000多磅啊，把人家的处理品全部买完还买
了好多非处理的，一车一车拉回来，搬到地里，摊平，还拌上打碎的粘土，愣是没把坡
添平。
有坡就有坡吧，至少现在是一层松土可以种东西了。春天的时候有空就往漏死沃尔玛

1/2 cup each red wine and fish stock or clam juice

，学的是OTC里最常用的各种药品。内容非常繁琐复杂，但那居然是我最喜欢的一堂课
之一。所以后来学完之后很久，我在各种讨论和病历中都能记得许多，甚感欣慰……哈哈
OTC中有一大块，是病人和商家眼中的宝：保健品。在病人眼里，是抗击疾病，提高身
体健康，弥补不健康生活方式的救命稻草。在商家眼里，哈，不用说了——一年总销售
额超过30 billion。在我眼里，保健品，又分几类——维生素/微量元素，自然提取物
（这里又该分类了：临床有意义的/临床弄不清楚意义的/临床没有意义的/甚至是临床
危险的），功能性补充，等等。pharmacy的学业注重的永远当然是处方药，但在实际
practice中，这些OTC有不可小觑的重要意义。
第一个问题，就是保健品的意义是什么？前面说了，商家在保健品上常常能够大做文章

1 clove garlic, minced
1 to 1-1/2 tablespoons curry powder

今年的感恩节，是我经历的第五个感恩节，也是最开心和踏实幸福的一个。回想过
去的一年，是来美国后最开心的一年。经过如噩梦般的两年多，终于走出了最低谷；值
得感谢的太多太多。
谢谢bf一直一直陪在我身边。无论是我在北卡CPT出了问题，遭遇了车祸，膝盖肿
的老高不能上下楼，和房东经济上的纠纷，回学校funding出了问题，或是在加州大清
早被警察pull over，抑或是小到生活中手多处受伤帮我笨手笨脚的包扎，帮我洗菜切
菜不要我的手沾水，你都一直陪在我身边。有过争执和误会，有过赌气和大哭，磕磕绊
绊的一路走来，却发现不知不觉中，你已经给了我家的温暖和依靠。这对于从小无比恋
家，却又独自在外漂了6、7年的我是何等的弥足珍贵！有时候我会跟你念叨，回想起来
，最最温馨和踏实幸福无忧无虑的竟然是中学时代。其实，后来的那些年，也有过很多

Minerva这个名字来自罗马的知识，魔法，医药，商业和防御女神，和希腊的雅典娜是
一个神。如下图为美国国会图书馆的Minerva画像。
Minerva或者athena出现的时候会有一只“猫头鹰”，一根长矛，一个头盔，Aegis（包
括一个用蛇发女妖的头装饰的盾牌和(或)一个用蛇发女妖的头装饰的兽皮甲）和胜利女
神Nike。实际上Minerva这个名字一出现，结局就已经暴漏了。

Harry Potter
Harry来自古代德语名字Haimric, Haim对应英语里Home，ric对应英语里的Reich和rich
，这个词是“一家之主，说话算数的人”的意思。Harry还有可能是来自维京人的名字
Harold，是“一军之主”的意思，反正也是“说话算数的人”。
当年维京人拿下了不列颠半壁江山，大致如下图。
除了给不列颠留下大量的维京人名字和地名外，这些维京人还烧毁了大量的古英语的文
字。导致我们现在说的英语用的是经济发达的伦敦地区的发音，写的英文用的是起源于
没被维京人占领的Wessex的拼写……
有个说法说Potter是一个诺曼底名字，当年来自诺曼底的征服者威廉姆征服英格兰的时
候手下有个姓Potter的人因为战功卓著而被封了一块地，从此英国有了Potter这个姓。
所以不出意外的话Harry Potter应该是诺曼底人后裔。
诺曼底人也是来自北欧的维京人。有一年维京海盗围攻巴黎，法国国王为了解围把不列
塔尼（Britannia）旁边的一片地皮给了维京人，被称为Normandy->north-man-dy。

从Calgary的成品油储藏中心出来，Dude-walkby已经有十八个小时没有怎么休息过。从
十七岁他第一次来到温哥华开始，他就一直对这两个相距八百公里的城市之间的气候差
异而感到惊奇。现在这个时候，Calgary已经下了两场雪了，而温哥华却只是秋雨涟涟。
因为下雪，穿越落矶山脉的一号横加高速公路更难走了，十二个小时的车程往往得跑上
二十来个钟头。特别是像他开的这种后面拖两节油罐的trailer，就得更加小心。每次他
出车，他那个跟他差不多胖的老婆总要关照一句：“Drive smart, and don’t f*ck i
t up, dude!”
“Okay, I will! I’ll check you up every two hours to make sure you’re not
sleeping around!” 差不多每次他出门之前都要拍一拍老婆的肥臀，开一句这样的玩笑
让她宽一宽心, 然后带上她给他装好的garlic sausage(有乌克兰血统的德裔加拿大人的
家传特色香肠，这种背景的加拿大人在内陆省份尤其的多。）。
