的行程。 教训一， 有小娃的家，出门前一定检查是否带上尿片，走trail 前给娃穿上
。
当晚在离Zion 半小时处的 ComfortInn住下。 近一百刀的酒店房间简朴实用，包简单
的早餐还有山景看。 可妞不愿意住“别人的家里”，坚持要回家睡自己的小床，说今
天玩的很高兴，现在要回家睡觉了。 好说歹说，哄骗和我睡一起。 手脚不老实了一晚
上， 一会儿踹我，一会儿踢被子， 老妈我又回到照顾小baby 的夜里。 教训二， 出
远门前要做好思想工作， 顺便带上陪睡的毛绒玩具。
第二天顶着熊猫眼开了3小时的车赶往 Grand Canyon North Rim。 如果说Zion还能感
受到沙漠气候的酷热的话，North rim 就完全是另一个世界了。 凉爽宜人，我还穿起
了长袖。 途中停下好几次被其一览无遗的绿草坪和紧连着的高耸挺拔的松树林给迷住

因为情况有些改变，再发一次找室友的帖子。一个朋友今年10月来Boston工作。30多岁
的女孩，人很好。想找个在TD Garden／North Station附近做室友。两个或者三个人分
房租。每个人的房租加杂费一个月1000块左右。
她的工作地址离TD Garden／North Station 走路一分钟。
跟她提了malden，Belmont，MIT， Harvard等等华人比较多离地铁和火车近的地方，可是
她不想住的离上班远的地方。
跟她说TD Garden／North Station附近贵，她想试试有没有找室友的。两个或者三个人
分房租。可是这个地方华人好像不多。不太好找。有愿意在TD Garden／North Station

2009's first snow. I'm very much intrigued by that idea despite the fact
that I may not be in town for the first snow this year.
What Manhattan's north end looks like? Unlike Battery Park, this island's
south tip, the north part is much unkown to New Yorkers. I did bike north.
Yet most of the times, I got onto GWB to bike in NJ. And for the rest couple
of times, I stopped at the Cloister.How come I never biked to explore |

that great. The asian population in the south is about 50%, some residents
of new hyde park also goes to the south school
the asian population in the north is about 15%..
rich folks in either north or south go to private schools anyway.. only the
truely poor and the working poor goes to public school..
i picked north when i bought my house... i knew the south school is better,

二月份底开始看房， 6月份初房子close, 整个买房过程历时3个月。写点东西纪念一下
，希望给后来想买North Valley (95131 & 95132)的朋友一点参考。
总的来说，我们买房还算比较顺利的原因主要在下面两点：
1． 自己定位比较准确。
房价： 我和ld都算保守的人，买房的预算是如果一个人失去工作，另一个也要比较轻
松地能供房贷。最后budget 定在60万左右。
Location：
一开始就很明确知道Cupertino, Palo Alto, Saratoga 这些最好的学区我们的budget
绝对买不到，直接放弃，不浪费时间。后来做 了一些研究，加上我们对房子的最大要
求是不能距公司太远，单程最多20分钟，生活要比较方便。碰巧有两对朋友都是买在
North Valley，就基本决定也买在这个区。
North Valley：
North Valley 主要的两个区，依照邮编来划分，就是95131和95132.
95131 优势：对华人来说，生活很方便，大华，Costco都有，父母可以步行买菜，附近

to bay)
San Tomas Aquino Creek Trail (from El camino/San Tomas to bay)
And the Bay trail (west-east).
The above are bike/pedestrian only trail, no motor vehicles allowed.
In general, if you live west of 680 (Santa Clara/Sunnyvale), then biking is
most likely feasible.

缘地带。North Valley跟Milpitas和南Fremont三个地方的相似性，远大于跟西边
的南湾的相似性。从房价上说North Valley跟Milpitas相仿，还不如南Fremont.
既然南Fremont能有Tesla的工厂，在North Valley建一个类似的也不是不可能的。 |

骨折，就我和我老婆两个人去。由于这几张permit申请到不容易，花了不少时间，也有

位于Arizona和Utah边境，属于Vermilion Cliffs National Monument。Coyote Buttes
分north和south两部分，其中north(石浪)更为出名，是世界十大地质奇迹之一（见图
文http://news.backchina.com/2009/3/31/35134.html）。但为了保护地质环境，当地政府只允许每天有20人次进入这两个区域，在 google map中也找不到该地区任何信息。在进入Coyote Buttes North的20人中，有10人由网上提前4个月抽奖产生，在热门的4月到7月，从官方网上显示的数字看，一般都是从上百个人当中抽取10个；另10人，是当天进入该区域的前10人。对于Coyote Buttes South，也得提前4个月在网上申 |

South Korean navy ship 'sinking near North'
A South Korean navy ship with about 100 personnel on board is sinking off
the west coast near North Korea, possibly due to a torpedo attack, reports
say.
The ship was sinking near Baengnyeong island, Yonhap news agency quoted navy
officials as saying.
It also said the South Korean ship had fired shots toward an unidentified
ship from the North.
