一起做，做好了坏了visibility都很高，犹豫该不该take。
主要是对自己的people skill不是很有信心（性格关系，和语言关系不是很大。不善与
人打交道，直来直去，忽悠就更不用想了）。担心做不好到时给个PIP就得走人，但是
放弃了programming，以后估计就不可能再回头作技术了。Product Engineer是不是不
如developer好找工作？看这次公司裁员也是先从非development下手，很是担心走出这
一步，万一做不好被裁找下家不容易。编程尽管是苦力而且自己编程能力也一般，但是
努力点的话总归还能有碗饭吃。
这些只是自己的对Product Engineer的片面的理解，不知道对不对，有没有有这方面经
验的分享一下见解或提供点建议？很是纠结，希望多听听过来人的建议，谢谢了。 |

这也是面试常问的问题。面试者经常问：跟我说说你做pm每天都干些啥。前些日子，我
老板让我给老板的老板写我们部门PM的具体的职责描述， 这让我好好的想了想这个问
题。在研发看来，PM每天干的事儿基本就是开会， 和。。。。召集大家开会。 这么说
其实是不完全准确的，well，开会确实是PM们喜闻乐见的一种活动，因为PM职责里面很
重要的一条就是要保障communication。那么开会算是手段之一。当然，开会的目的还
有很多，有时候是产品出了问题，需要大家集思广益（开会）马上解决问题。有时候是
和大家通报一下当前的进度，以及市场的反馈，确保everyone on the same page.当然
有的时候是啥事儿没有，几个人累了，想歇歇，关上门在唠嗑，外面以为他们在开会（
我发誓这事儿我没干过。）

的来看，pm必须是自己产品的超级用户。对自己产品的有缺点，工作原理要了如指掌。
这是个需要下功夫的事儿。比如我之前的公司是做企业用的webfilter的，所有的pm家
里都是一堆公司的产品用着。PM还要对别家的，竞争对手的产品，以及业界的趋势，发
展方向，环境要很了解。只有对用户，竞争对手以及市场了解，在做事情的时候才有支
点，才会有理有据。当然这些信息的了解方式和渠道有很多，根据产品不同也会不一样
。再就是每个人的偏好也不一样，有人喜欢拜访客户，有人喜欢打电话，有人喜欢参加
会议，有人喜欢做一些活动或者call focus group。不过，无论是什么方法，能够切实
的清晰的了解自己的市场和客户，并把这些信息转化成功能点，做到产品里面，这是PM
的核心职责。
