我也在纠结这几个model(highlander, 4runner,pilot)。大家好像都喜欢4 runner一些
。不过4runner好像不是iihs的top safty pick。highlander在List里面。不知道哪个
更安全阿？买highlander肯定上V6。 |

单地说就是，AWD是一直的四轮驱动，而4WD只有在某些情况下是。比如我知道的2010的
RAV4就是在时速35mph以下车子感应到打滑才是，其他情况下不是。所以从某种角度说
AWD比4WD要安全。斯巴鲁的车子安全性都不错的。所有车型全部上榜2011的IIHS top
safty pick。但是据我所知RAV4和CRV是无一上榜的。可能和这个有点关系？湾区的确
买AWD意义不大，但是在一些雪州，还是不铲雪的雪州，意义就不一样了。防止打滑的
另外一个好办法是装雪胎或者雪链，但是有些州是不让的。不过我还是觉得拿Subaru
Outback和CRV和RAV4比没啥意义，因为不是一类车。CRV和RAV4得和Forester比去。 |

我的case是， 2011年的车很容易有pullback。 这绝不是是么松油门引起的。 Field
technical specialist给我查了一个星期。尽管结论是no
repair necessary， 但是他们让我同时比较了2010model，很smooth。另外他们也同时
在另外两个车duplicate这个问题， 所以2011款还是有些问题的， 尽管不一定会有
safty隐患。 |

和美国车越来越接近了。只是2010年的要好一点了。
我大概问了一下，不过我问的是AWD的basic的，想车价在36－38K左右，所以没有那么
多的discount。给了500左右，如果谈的话大概能到1000－1500左右。不是很确定。 |

6K or 6.5K is 比较合理 for a car with restored title. (or about 1/3 less
than a clean car)
It is also best to avoid a car with restored title if you are not experienced buying such cars, cars not repaired correctly is much weaker and a serious safty issue if you ever get into a accident. |

budget 3W+/-1W，若超过budget太多就考虑lease或CPO
比较了X5,MDX,RX,FX,ML,X3,Q5,Tiguan,RDX,Touareg，Highlander,4Runner，CRV。。。
最后发现，XC60性价比最理想 (一开始都没在考虑范围之内，主要是对Volvo有偏见）
- Good engine, can last very long, 240HP，V6, 18～2MPG，good enough for me
- 三年免费maintenance， 0 cost, 这一点比两田好
- Heavy, solid body
- City safty, parking assist, 大天窗，lane departure warning, ...
- OSD program (like to drive the car in Europe)
- Good cargo space, size，比RX小点，还凑合

大决定因素，focus不仅有倒车摄像头，还有自动平趴的功能，其他有这个功能的至少
都得30k以上了。MyFord Touch看上去也挺花哨，不过听说时不时会死机。2012 focus
是欧洲设计的，看review都说挺好的，安全也是top safty pick。想比较而言其他同档
次的小车要么价钱高（golf），要么加钱也没啥feature可以选（mazda 3,subaru
impreza），要么没有hitchback的型号（civic，elantra）。现在focus又1000刀的
rebate，这周末准备去test drive一下。 |

Highlander, pilot are car-based suv, both have high resale value,
pilot has more space on third road, and bench second row seat. but I would
say highlander has better 4wd system
If you want to try American brand with third row, wait for Grand Cherokee 7

it is gas saver, local 30 mpg, highway over 35 mpg.
very good handling on highway, i drove @ 88 mph last weekend, feels good.
10 airbags for the safty.
bad things are: not quiet, small space for second row, and small cargo space. |

reliability主要看统计数据，自己经历样本太小，不能作为依据。如果你参考
consumer report 2012年公布的reliability数据，会发现ford其实很糟糕。fiesta,
focus都是below average.丰田不是什么好车，但在reliability这点上ford真不是一个
等级的。
vw golf的确算是vw里比较可靠的车。
我建议楼主参考政府公布的safty rating买个俗车，又不贵，孩子也安全。有钱了再换。 |
