which arm? of course you mean my left arm, don't you?
actually, the left arm should be as straight as possible since..
image that, the swing is like drawing a circle. the left arm is the radius
when the back swing is being done. If it's bent, it's hard to make sure a circle
is drawn.
Actually, that's my understanding.
Text book said the body is like a corn something..
i look it as a compliment. hhee. but, you don't have to look at my swing.
just check tiger's. haha. my swing is pretty much like his, tho i don't have
the power as he has.
hehe.
now it is completely what I want.. and what I have.
All clubs have the same finish position. no body maupulating club motion (
well, sometimes it still have to use the body to compensate if the plane is
not there.). all swing are made under the right shoulder.
i hope i can gain some distance from the new swing.
Is there any difference between driver swing and iron swing? I just got my
driver hit kind of straight but my iron hit became ~20 yard shorter than it
used to be. I got something wrong?
it just means a complete "swing" motion. no body manupulating, no hands
manupulate,no shoulder drop to force the club head, just a move of "swing
through"..
1. driver swing, taken on last Saturday, Oct. 6th, 2007.

comment: made some progress, but still away from my expectation, even I can
hit ball straight and stay on the fairway most of the time. have not had my
swing taken for several monthes. This one helped me know where I should work
on, besides the short game.
the part I don't like the most is about how to initiate the downswing..
apparently, i started from moving my arms on the top
I noticed it because that's one thing I was working on recently. It's
incredible how much improvement I was getting on my swing by just focusing
on that. In the past, my weight shifted to the left side too much in down
swing, when my right heel wasoff the ground, what it really means is my head
was moving to the left side. That's a realy killer. By focusing on getting
the right heel stick to the ground, I forced my hip to rotate/move out to
the left side while at the same time keep my head on th
hehe.. good luck, man.
it reminds me how I tried to hit solid shot in summer, 2005. I focus on that
part too.
golf swing is.. just like an endless loop, back and forth, back and forth...
I tried to work on my swing plane and downswing initiating today. Suddently,
the feel I had days ago disappeared. I miss-hit many balls. It was rare
for my past months pratice. and I was able to quickly pick it up once I made
some adjustment, but seems it's not this time.
One thing I know, I made some progress a
i didn't take my long iron swing video. i was pretty pissed off by my iron
play at that day due to my take-away motion. We focused on my friend's swing.
I'll try next time..
After months of rebuild, my new swing starts to take shape.
Here I am posting a video of my recent swing, with Driver, 3 wood, 3 iron
and 8 iron. Your comments are welcome.
My feel is that I may be releasing the club a bit too soon, but I can't
figure out a way to fix it yet.
Feel free to share your thoughts.
Here's the link if the video doesn't show below. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZQ9qiiaduDI
good swing, some of my opinions:
1. lower body too active. notice your take-away is even initiated by hip
turn(3 and 8 iron back view), it will make your upswing way too inside.
better start it by arm/shoulder turn and keep your lower body as quiet as
possible.
2. spine angle not very consistent during the whole swing. of course it's
quite hard for most golfers.
3. during downswing, you uncock your wrist too early. this will
significantly affect your distance. my suggestion is to slow down your
scientific and systematic, if you really want to delve into the swing
mechanics, this is the book. recommended by a local teacher here and just
bought it.
how is the result?
it looks pretty good. u had a full shoulder turn, u had the ur hip rotation
first, you made a solid contact, apparently for me, and your followthrough
looks good also.
the temp is good, as you always have.
Who are you play with right now? I will come back for my defense, but
probably dont have time for a round of golf. You are very athletic, so keep
working on your swing. Find a instructor if possible. It's very hard to
figure out swing by yourself. I've tried very hard by myself, but look at
the difference between me and ET, not even close. Good luck.
Dont' try to compare with me, i am gifted, haha~~~~~~~
John Sosa, the teaching pro & player pro, (I told his story before, he was
better than Justin Lenoard when they played for UT ) once said, I had the
one of the best natural swings he has ever seen. I looked it as a compliment
, but he did tell something.
I believe I have a right concept about golf swing, from tee to green. I am
thinking to build the concept as a system right now, my own system. My goal
is to keep the system simple, and effi
stand in front of mirror, NAKED( this is important, if u r a lady and not
comfortable , u can wear bra), make full swing with real club. u can see ur
body movement. and compare with the dream swing u want, u will tell which
muscle's moving is right or wrong or unnecessary. i used to shruggle my
left shoulder when the club face contact the ball, making ball flight low or
even not flight and contact is so bad. using this way, I found it is wrong
and correct, now i can hit ball higher, and further
sort of.. golf swing is such a trival thing. might be a just a little bit
here & there, it would cause big problem, not mentioning the mental thing.
like, if ball's lie is not good, players tend to rush out to look at the
result which cause topping. it's so hard to tell from a swing motion.
i would say, basic/fundamental is the rule of rule. the next thing is to
understand what's the right way to contact the ball. and think about what
makes you hit solid shot, and last thing, repeat it..
the owner's comment:
it took him 6 months to have his backswing changed.. I plan to do it in 2
weeks.. lol.....
_----------------------------
So after working hard and focused on a change when it becomes grooved then
it will be consistent. The problem is that most golfers never work long
enough on any one change. If I could see your swing sure I could tell you
how to swing from the inside but without a system and focus that you get
with a good instructor and plan you will never make it a lasting
it's a good question, but actually, i can't answer it. 'coz I don't know the
hinge thing that much. I am always doing the one-piece takeway, like this
guy's swing : kevin Na.
which makes my club head way inside of my hands. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E0EKksPTyk0&feature=related
the quick hinge is..most likely, I mean it's just about the timing. don't
overdo it. I know (even myself back to years ago), expect to have a swing
plane like Ben Hogan, so I hinge my wrist to start my backswing which
Maybe I 'm wrong, but in my imagination hinge quick or late brings to the
same result at the height of back swing, if you have clear mind to keep your
hand facing and hinging at the right angle. The only difference is the way
you perform your down swing, at what plane you release your hinge.(when your
left arm passes the horizontal line, I guess, for most of golfers) So I can
't comprehend the timing issue on engaging the hinge. I wish I could do the
hinge thing right, coz ideally it will add th
But it's not easy to do like he did in the video. Do you have any tips to
share on how to swing like that. Also it didn't looks like one plane swing.
Am i right?
not one plane? it looks so much one-plane for me.. backswing and downswing..
i can do the downswing ..i am working on my backswing now.. like those
commment, he hinged his wrist in the backswing to make sure it's a upright
swing plane, for the downswing part, the hip rotation and arm rotation are
the key timing thing. the rest thing is: swing-down-to-the-line..
still, fundamental and tempo are keys to get there steadily..
This guy's comment is very similar to what my instructor told me. I tend to
hinge my wrist in the very early
back swing, so my instructor developed some drill to help me prevent this
early hinge. However one of my
friend (who plays pretty well) tell me to hinge early. I thought my
instructor was right. But after reading all
the posts here, I guess whether right or not really depends. But I did feel
late hinge is a bit easier to make
your back swing more consistent.
看得真仔细
读了zxhou说的之后我又再看了一遍,好象driver的时候,右脚抬得早了一点
overall 当然是 very impressive, specially i like your fairway wood shots.
Nice swing, Great tempo. It appears to me that you straighten your right
knee (lost your knee flex) at the end of back swing. IMOP, you could maybe
keep your chin a little bit higher.
so took some golf swing video at my home course..
see the difference between swing the club at the range and on the real
course. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wf71M7PqtWo
sh*t. .it's long time.
You gotta go the real course to see if the swing and all effort could
sustain under pressure or not, or if the swing does work for you.
yah, new house. pretty nice, and I like it very much.
bought all new furniture from all places, had to assemble them by myself.
totally, about 13 furnitures installed.
tough work.
I didn't use the stack and tilt swing concept. maybe a little bit stack, I
try to put more weight on my left for short club and will put more weight on
my right for longer club. I mean in set up.
I totally agree with you, I am not trying to work on some tiny things. I
always try to go back to fundamentals. I believe the rest will be taken care
of by its own if you have sounds fundamentals.
I see, you are perfectionist. It's cool. After you have paid all the
attention to your swing, don't forget develop your awareness of the club
face all the time during the swing. After all, all it matters is delivering
the club face to the ball to make that solid contact in a way you want. Just
my 2 cents.
