throughput of at least 500 megabits per second (500 Mbit/s)，多个antenna达到
超过1Gb/s以上的理论速度）。现在的wireless device通常支持到802.11n。
smallnetbuilder是最全面的router benchmark网站。现有802.11ac draft router
5GHz downlink实测速度可以达到130Mbps。只用802.11n能达到80Mbps downlink。

wireless bridge类似于一个中继器，它自己是一个wifi access point，但是不象路由
器通过有线接入网络，它通过wifi，而且和原来的网路在一个子网里，而不是另一级。
有些专卖的wireless bridge，也有些wireless router that can be configured as a
wireless bridge. And some models can be changed to a wireless bridge with a
different firmware (DD-WRT).

来绕去，想想干脆用wireless算了。家里是Comcast cable,这台台式机常年不停下载，
需要用Wireless N吗？还是Wireless G就好了？家里倒是有Belkin Wireless G,但是连
用笔记本WIFI的时候总是觉得网速有点慢。
如果需要上Wireless N的话，大家有没有什么deal推荐一下，最好性能稳定一点的，
Belkin router下载的速度一大就要掉线，很烦人。 |

Wireless Router. 在Starhub上门安装时，没有进行必要的安全设置，结果是
很可能邻居也可以使用(在信号覆盖范围内)你的Router, 和你共享带宽，甚至能
管理你的Router。
以下是Router安装好后，几个需要自己更改的缺省设置, 以Linksys的Wireless-B
BroadBand Router为例。在IE中输入http://192.168.1.1，进入到管理页面。
1. 管理页面的初始passwd是"admin"(username为空), 如果不改，别人就可以进入
并管理你的router. 进入Administration->Management, 把密码改掉.
2. 进入Wireless->Basic Wireless Settings, 把 Wireless SSID Broadcast 禁
这样，别人就不能通过扫描来获得你的SSID,并连入(Windows安装Wireless card时

his problem is that his wireless network disconnects every 6-10 hours. it
does come back by itself in a few hours, if left alone. restarting wireless
router does bring wireless network back, too. in both cases, disconnections

Cable Internet connection，先进cable modem，再连router，一个台式机用有线连接

笔记本，一般用wireless，有时候会用网线连接。
联网的速度是用http://www.speedtest.net/ 来测的。
最近注意到这样一个现象：
有时候wireless会变得很慢，但如果用网线把笔记本和router连起来，速度还是很快，
所以不是ISP
的问题。当wireless变得很慢的时候，试过两个router，都这样（ASUS RT-N16， 和
Linksys
