In 802.11, Is there any special channel coding used on RTS and CTS,
different from the one used for Data packet?
I think RTS/CTS and Data should use the same coding (if any), since they are
simply the payload of PHY layer data unit.
But I really cannot verify that neither on the internet nor in the standards
. So I have to ask this question here.
Thanks! | z*****n 发帖数: 7639 | 2 hmmm...
Actually, they are different in 11b/g/a, but in original
802.11, they use same coding scheme.
in 802.11b and newer versions, RTS/CTS/ACK always use
basic rate. For example, in 802.11b, there are 4 different
(1, 2, 5.5, and 11mbps) different rates can be chosen
depending on the channel condition. Control frames
always use 1Mbps the basic rate, in order to make sure
that these frames are warranted to be heard.
are
standards
