achieved extraodinary ability in the past but then failed to maintain a

2, have achievements that have been recognized in the field of expertise,
indicating that you are one of that small percentage who has risen to the
very top of the field of endeavor.
我的问题是中间的一句话：you may have achieved extraodinary ability in the
past but then failed to maintain a comparable level of acclaim thereafter;
and,
大家的RFE里面是不是也有这么一句话啊？还是只有我有？是不是因为我最近没有
publication，还是什么其他的原因？

发帖数: 520 | 4 我现在担心的就是这一点，博士期间做的是一种green refrigerant,现在做的是
alternative energy for example wind energy.
难不成他是说我的这种跳跃？以前的成果没有hold 住？我claim的contribution是
green and alternative energy方面；博士期间做的green refrigerant还在今年5月份
发了文章出来了，看来应该不是说我publication方面，而是指我的工作方向的转变问
题。
其实，我对green refrigerant强调的是global warming,其实是和alternative energy
一样。
我该怎么办啊?针对他的这一句话，大家觉得我有什么好的对策吗？
我的citation不行，不能像别人一样，把每年递增的citation列出来，强调sustained
acclaim; 我原本打算用新增加的4个review来强调一下我的sustained acclaim,看来不
足以回答他的这个问题；
希望大家帮帮我，给我提点好意见,好吗？

I don't have any personal experience in answering this, but based on what I
read on this board, I don't think that it's an issue of changing projects at
all, but just that you need to point it out how your recent or current
achievements are comparable to your earlier ones.
My own projects are very mixed, and I just find a big word to cover them all
. I don't seem to see any RFE on working on different fields.
Your focus is to highlight your recent and current contribution. If you don'
t think the citation trend plot helps, then don't use it. What you can do is
to find other evidences to strengthen your contribution.
1. You could perhaps mention that new paper based on your Ph.D. work, to say
that you have sustained impact in that particular sub-area. Does it have
any citations by now?
2. Try to find people who have used your recent work, whether they cited
your paper or not, to write you some new reference letters to say that their
work was inspired by you.
3. Has your work been used in some commercial products? You could find
somebody to say how your work has been making impact continuously.
