Match结果出来了，I matched to my first choice!!!
total 125 positions for IM, Peds, Meds-Peds, only 7 unfilled positions.
我就写一下自己申请面试的经验吧，希望对后来的兄弟姐妹有所帮助。
我在这里写两个fellowship match的申请面试经验。先写Allergy match,然后再另开一
贴写medical subspecialty match里的infectious disease (ID)的申请面试经验。
首先要先感谢我的朋友们，大家都是从麦地中认识一路走过来的。有老前辈，有senior
,有同一届的，也有正在准备考试的，还有正在准备考医学院的。友谊无价。

, 都是一次通过。
4 篇co-auther的皮肤科的文章，国内导师对我很好，一篇一作的关于猴子眼动的博士
毕业文章，发在哪个杂志上我都不记得了。住院医期间没有做任何research,也没有写
任何abstract or paper or case report.也没有参加过任何会议。
2 years dermatology master degree training in China(quit at the 3rd year),
American phd in anatomy/neuroscience field. PhD 答辩后一直到毕业典礼这近11个
月的时间里，跟着chairman of Dept of microbiology and immunology做了快一年的
research focus on developing new topical antibiotics for skin infection.然后
就去做内科的住院医生了。
A very small typical NY community program with a very weak association with
one NY med school,为什么这么说呢：就是我们可以去那里做elective(但是这个医学
院也没有我想申请的allergy的fellowship),最后内科培训结束后那张certificate上写
的是XXXXX Hospital in affiliation with XXXXX medical school.
据说medical subspecialty fellowship match 2013的time frame会有变化，会在2012
年的6-7月申请，然后面试，在12月份出结果。所以申请match 2013的住院医生们请注
意一下，好更合理的安排自己的elective和休假。
大家肯定都知道cardio, GI, hem/onc竞争很激烈，但是Allergy也很激烈，有过之而无
不及。原因如下：1。Internal medicine resident, Pediatrics resident, Meds-
Peds resident all can apply.
2. for Match 2012, only 123 positions from NRMP. Probably half of them will
go to IM candidates, half will go to Peds candidates. Meds-Peds can apply in
either adult or peds track.
3.only 70 programs with 123 positions. 这70个program基本都是规模不小的
university program,这些university program本身内科，儿科，meds-peds住院医生就
>50人了，中间只要有一到两位本家住院医生或者住院总想allergy fellowship,那外来
户们就真的很难能挤进去了。
4．不得不说：allergy是众多专科里life style最好的一个：-）出来后private
practice在纽约这样的大城市难找工作，其他地方工作还是能找到的，工作两年后基本
就能在20-25万年薪。工作schedule基本上是Monday to Friday, 8 to 5pm, no call
at night or weekiend or holiday.
5.allergy这个专业如果你毕业留在academic里面，工资肯定没有private practice高
，但是每周只有一到两个半天的门诊，剩下的时间就可以去搞research,所以还是很喜
欢research的同学也可以考虑考虑这个专业哦：-）
6．Most allergy fellowship applicants are AMG,我面了十几个地方，就遇到三个
FMG(one cmg, one latino, one Indian, all with MS or PHD degree), 其他几十个
candidates都是AMG.还碰到几个大的university program的chief resident. | h***y
