foreign medical school. I am not so sure you will be looked at seriously by
Family Medicine programs. They prefer not to match and scramble than
matching someone with long graduation time and PhD/Research. In all honesty,
research experience has nothing to do with being a good general
practitioner. Your background will either be good for FM or Pathology, most
likely not both. |

pathology more likely. However I have one family medicine iv which has great
chance too. So I started to struggle...I won't think about it at all if I
did not get any family medicine iv. |

发帖数: 111 | 10 我看杂志上说全美家庭医生的平均工资是180，000. 自己开业可以挣更多些。
病理工资更高，也更轻松些，因为不用接触病人。
如果都给offer，我会去病理。否则，作为老CMG，就不挑了，谁先offer，就先去谁那
儿。 |

people for 10 hours a day or do you prefer looking at sides and dictating
for 10 hours a day? Pathology will give you potential for better pay (
dermatopathology, GI etc.,). However, you have to REALLY like it. The job
market is definitely much better for FM though. You can basically find a job
anywhere in the country. |

发帖数: 117 | 13 确实是这样。一定要选择自己喜欢的专业。这两个专业差别太大了，工作方式完全不一
样，如果仅仅为了钱，不幸自己选择了一个不是很喜欢的专业，会痛苦一辈子。病理不
适合所有的人，仅仅我认识的的选了病理，后来又改行选其他专业的中国医生就有三个
。选了家庭医生，后又该学其他专业的也不罕见。

发帖数: 111 | 16 如果你有选择，当然要去喜欢的专业最重要。就好像婚姻和爱情一样：）。 你应该病
理和家庭的observership都做过了吧。心里还是有数的。
如果毕业时间长或成绩不太理想或没有很强的connection，当然是先进门最重要。只要
进了这个门，再怎么换，都不要紧 （这条不适合婚姻和爱情：）。我见过内科转病理
的，OB转内科的，家庭转OB的，有中有外。不要为了所谓的理想太执着。Nobody is
perfect and nothing is always as planned. 通往顶峰的路不止一条,或直或弯,风
景也不同啊。Enjoy everyday and every choice you made.
