看到本田少报车辆死亡人数的报告，非常失望。但是总是要搞清楚到底是什么情况。因
为IIHS用的是NHTSA的Fatality Analysis Reporting System，所以我去这个政府机构网
站找出来了数据的manual。是这个链接里面第三个文件：

FARS Analytical User's Manual 1975-2012
关于数据来源是这样写的：
The Fatality Analysis Reporting System (FARS), which became operational in 1
975, contains data on a census of fatal traffic crashes within the 50 States
, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico. To be included in FARS, a crash
must involve a motor vehicle traveling on a trafficway customarily open to
the public, and must result in the death of an occupant of a vehicle or a no
n-occupant within 30 days (720 hours) of the crash.
NHTSA has a cooperative agreement with an agency in each Stateˇs government
to provide information on all qualifying fatal crashes in the State. These
agreements are managed by Regional Contracting Officerˇs Technical Represen
tatives located in the 10 NHTSA Regional Offices. Trained State employees, c
alled ¨FARS Analysts,〃 are responsible for gathering, translating, and tra
nsmitting their Stateˇs data to NCSA in a standard format. The number of an
alysts varies by State.
FARS data are obtained from various Statesˇ documents, such as:
Police Accident Reports (PAR)
Death Certificates
State Vehicle Registration Files
Coroner/Medical Examiner Reports
State Driver Licensing Files
Hospital Medical Reports
State Highway Department Data
Emergency Medical Service Reports
Vital Statistics
Other State Records
所以iihs根据nhtsa计算的死亡率看上去并没有用本田自己提供的数据。当然我也不是很
肯定是否这些数据里面有的用了本田的数据。不是专家，提供一些数据供大家参考。
