Personal foundation which is running by family is crap!
e.g., Zuckerberg will put 45 billion FB stocks to personal foundation.

here is why.
doing charity might not be sufficient to prove entire goodness of a person,
it surely is a good supportive evidence for that. if you are determined to
cut the link between doing charity and being a good person, then you
effectively mean only bed people do charities. it is the same thing, i would
say this is miss dinosaur.

i am ok with what you said but they are most irrelevant-----useless.
Super riches all have their own foundations. If you find out how much the
red cross CEO makes, you will pull back your donations. Only ~20 to 30 cents
per dollar go to the place where they all supposed to go. |

My Mom had similar experience couple months ago. She stayed in ER for 1 day.
The ER cost (not including doctors' bill and bill for her exams in ER) is $
8684. We explain my Mom's income to the social worker in the hospital and
she give us the forms for Charity application.
3 Months later the Charity application is approved, and we only need to pay
the co-pay $200 for the ER bill, which is $8684. |

google一下。简单说来，医院甚本上都有charity care, 所以原则上急病去哪间医院急
诊都可以。只是每间医院的funding 有多有少，减免标准难免不同。西雅图的
harborview 是公立医院而且funding 最多（大部分funding来自捐款），去年charity
care 总额$60 million, 而且急救队伍超一流. 医院有case manager 来协助病人申请
费用减免。医院只会根据老人自身经济情况确定减免而不会问及子女的收入存款房产什
么的。

to go to most of the charity poker games close to my home. Below are my
problems and hopefully will be overcome next year:
1) Constantly won at 1/2 charity poker (~6 sessions so far), but lost all
the profits at a local casino 2/5 game(2 sessions so far). Next year I'll

， 一直都是在为昏君服务。 美国的企业和组织也都是类似的， 不干活的寄生阶层不

能从政府或 private foundation 得到资金，然后用这些钱来从事各种慈善活动。另一
类 private foundation 象盖茨基金会，资金来源是少数个人或公司，他们自己基本上
不会从事具体的慈善活动，而是把钱给那些publicf charity 去做事。

这事分两部分， 一是骗捐合不合法， 二是有没有违背tax law, IRS 只负责tax.诈捐

有。 我不是学法律的， 不过一直有兴趣， 抛砖引玉吧。
这事分两部分， 一是骗捐合不合法， 二是有没有违背tax law, IRS 只负责tax.诈捐
的收入， 包括复旦的部分， 如果按个人报税， 要交税的； 如果按一个机构， 可能
免税， 但其他方面的影响更麻烦。 只要IRS介入调查，大多数的报税都会有大大小小
的问题。
回到1， 个人募捐是legal, 但前提条件是不能misrepresent yourself。in order to
solicit funds， if you pretend to be something you are not, then it is
