Wherever there is deformation there is strain;
wherever there is strain there is deformation.
Strain can be viewed a measure of deformation. For
the same deformation, you can have different strain measures.
However in the following sense, they are totally equivalent,
small/finite strain = small/finite deformation.

Like Celcius and Fahrenheit for the same temperature? or maybe engineering
strain and true strain for the same deformation? If that is the case, then
deformation still = strain right? although you can have different numbers or

I think your advisor is at least partly right.
Displacement is not strain. Suppose two points in a body has the same
displacements vectors, there is no strain. Of course, strain is something you
can measure, deformation is a more general word. Nevertheless, I think your
advisor is roughly right.

Not true, you even can define a strain measure yourself. Also you can apply
your strain measure at any strain level. They are not limited to large strains.
Some of the strain measures are:

Green deformation tensor (Right Cauchy-Green tensor) C = transpose(F)F
Left Cauchy-Green tensor b= F tran(F)
C is a material strain tensor,
and b is a spatial strain

病人,男,目前6month, 33 weeks 剖宫产,出生时右侧股骨短,妇幼诊断股骨缺如。
武汉 同济、协和的医生都没有明确说诊断,只说定期复查看发育情况,再找时机看能否
做截骨延长。
没有家族史,其他器官生长发育没有异常
我把Xray,Xray report和MRI的report post在下面
请问各位,除了 目前定期观察,再找时机看能否做截骨延长 或者 截肢 以外,在 美
国有什么更先进的方法吗?作为家长他们 还是希望看看国外有没有系统的治疗方案,
怕错过早期干预时机。

at the result of non-reversible deformation.
so a larger structure is actually advantageous. it can reversibly deform a
small amount to absorb a large amount of energy, before the remainder of the
energy force it into plastic deformation.

我第四遍同意blunt force trauma不是可以依赖的东西。
有NIJ LEVEL的防弹衣, 不管是硬的还是软的, 都已经包括了backface deformation
的要求(大概是不超过一寸半)。 level IIA能防止12 gauge 00 buck的弹丸的穿透,
也能防止该弹药的blunt force trauma对人造成重伤, 把防弹衣backface
deformation限制在一寸半以内。
backface deformation是用泥巴来测试的。 人体比泥巴更柔韧, 泥巴上的一寸半深的
坑在人体上则不会这么严重。 穿不同等级的防弹衣挨了12 gauge #00 buck后的感受从
轻轻拍打到大锤砸胸都有可能; 但即便是最严重的情况, 一发霰弹也不会把人打倒打
晕, 所以根本不是自卫能依赖的东西。

Apparently, if the ball is perfect sphere and does not deform, friction
won't affect its vertical speed. But the ball will deform. Then it's more
or less similar to 撑杆跳 and the horizontal speed can be converted to
vertical direction.
However, as KennyD said, clay seems to have less friction than hard court.
How to explain that?
Also, clay court does have ball marks. Maybe the dent KennyD says is
caused by the dirt on top, not the surface deformation. But the dent does

做法很简单,重力弹力都是mg, 平衡掉,摩擦力 mu*mg, 牛顿第二定律算出加(减)速
度 a=mu*g, 也就是说质量约掉了。所以时间是 t = v/(mu g), 距离是 1/2 * a * t^2
,结果和质量是无关的。
而且即使是在斜坡上,还是和质量无关(当然得保证摩擦力能让木块停在坡上不滑下来
),反正摩擦力里有m, 算加速度能和质量约掉。
那套用到车子上,假定急刹车后车轮不再滚动,那不就是个滑动摩擦减速的模型吗,跟
车重不重有什么关系?当然你可以说还有空气阻力,但对车子这个量级的东西来说,空
气阻力可以忽略吧。感觉唯一能颠覆这个结论的是摩擦系数为常数这个假设,如果弹力

i think it's a matter of the scale of the load. in the event of a crash, you
are no longer only dealing with reversible deformation characterized by the
young's modulus. a lot of the deformation is plastic. you are dealing with
more of a lattice of springs than a lattice of rigid tubes. the more
material you have to distribute the energy over, the easier for the
structure to retain its original shape (more reversible deformation, less

demonstrated in the right uterine cornua approximately 5 mm in the diameter
. There is an extrinsic deformity at the level of the left uterine cornua.
there is prompt opacification of the interstitial isthemic and ampullary
segments of the right fallopian tube. Intravasation of contrast into the
myometrium is also demonstrate at the time of ampullary filling of contrast.
