NBA releases guidelines for anti-flopping rule
Posted Oct 4, 2012 7:42 AM
NEW YORK (AP) -- Stop the flop.
The NBA will penalize floppers this season, fining players for repeated
violations of an act a league official said Wednesday has "no place in our
game."
Those exaggerated falls to the floor may fool the referees and fans during
the game, but officials at league headquarters plan to take a look for
themselves afterward.

how do you justify a limp (after limper) raise $30 (with only $100 left) into
4 callers (including one raiser) pre-flop with KK? he's giving anyone at least
1:3 (1:4, 1:5...) good odds.
flop is one of the best flops he could expect, even with A. with 20%+ stack
invested and only having less than pot stack, he's way passed his commitment

Yeah I agree with this. Most of my friends believe LHE is deeper
strategically than NL at the higher levels. Because of the fixed-bet format
a lot of setups is more delicate and requires adaptation to game flow /
dynamic elements. You're also forced to make plays more at the big-bet
streets, and LHE has more multi-street aggression change. As long as you
are in a high enough stakes or serious enough game, these elements will be
the key difference between winning or losing.
Also a lot of peo...

you think $30 into a $45 raised 4-way pot is good? nobody (all 4 behind him)
would lay down a small $20 here after $10 already in.
original raiser gets almost 1:4 ($20 more for $75), next guy gets 1:5, next

来自主题: TexasHoldem版 - flush draw 要不要call flop over bet
1)wet flop(5-way limped pot pre),他over bet,而你只是check call,基本上都会
把你当drawing hands的了;
过的人,weak-tight不会那么狠protect a weak hand的;
也有可能pay him off;
个的样子,因为他这里有小set的机会很大,最烂也是T9 2 pair这样的牌;

来自主题: TexasHoldem版 - A sick fold on the flop
I think it's fine if you don't want to take the risk. There are always
better spots, but personally I would not fold on that flop. Raised with AQ
pre-flop, and you then flopped TPTK, that's the flop you were hoping for.
Although it's a drawy board, but that's how you make money from giving them
incorrect odds to draw. A dry board is much safer, but who is going to call
you? I don't know if the lady got the straight on the turn or on the river.

LHE definitely requires a different mindset because as you said there are
plenty of draws and you can't protect your hand with a large enough bet that
will severely punish someone from drawing with terrible odds.
So in that sense you accept a lot of people will make smaller mistakes than
in NL, and you really need iron will as you will run into much more
longshots getting there.
When my LP started learning how to play I actually advocated for her to

如果想到 “A/J/Q/K/T...,都可能警醒对手” flop我一定要raise了,只留下two

when you are trying to get paid with monster hand/nuts, always think about
your opponent's hand range and if that flop structure can hit their range.
With two big cards on the board with a pre flop raise, it is very likely
that your opponent may have a piece of it. I will try to play it fast on the

hehe, if he's really on a higher flush draw, you may not want another spade
on the river.
even without flush card, you still have 5 possible extra outs (2 8s and 3 7s
).
it's hard to believe he doesn't have any 2 high cards or good PP when he
squeezes AND calls your $68 on the flop out of position. you have basically
bought yourself 2 free cards after that $68 bet.
it's also hard for him to believe you like the Q on the flop AND then even
better on the turn with A, what?? you have AQ? or TT or Q

不过raise flop for

to be fair, I like utg+1's play both preflop and post flop. His reasoning on the flop is also fundamentally sound. I think he should call if utg does not call, but utg coming along make it more of a call.
Among all 3 player, lz's play is most arguable pre and post even though he win the hand. the call on the flop is 50 50%. I would not call it a good play either fold or call.

Let me break it down to you why i like his play.
preflop: i think limp behind and reraise with premium pair is a very good weapon when someone behind is aggressive. He can reraise to get a good spr preflop. I do this all the time on-line vs agro fish. Now the reraise size, if his stack is deeper, i would not like the 30$ raise, not because it does not THIN the field but because it does not give a good spr to put all the stack in post flop. Very low stakes LHE is not beatable because the rake is too high relative to
the realistically achievable win rates in that game. 8/16 becomes the
first limit that you see some people supplement income with a small win.
Some pros believe that 20/40 + prop wages is the first tier where you have
people that can sustain a decent standard of living by playing just LHE. Of
course, it's possible there are people that can make a nice enough living
by playing just 20/40 without prop wages, but those ...

it is really tough to figure what he had now, since he squeeze bf flop out
of position and now check twice on such a dangeous flop and turn?

hehe, if he's really on a higher flush draw, you may not want another spade
on the river.
even without flush card, you still have 5 possible extra outs (2 8s and 3 7s
).
it's hard to believe he doesn't have any 2 high cards or good PP when he
squeezes AND calls your $68 on the flop out of position. you have basically
bought yourself 2 free cards after that $68 bet.
it's also hard for him to believe you like the Q on the flop AND then even
better on the turn with A, what?? you have AQ? or TT or Q
