读完这本书也就大半年了，一直都想写点感想，结果是还没有仔细消化一下，就赶着读
下一本小说了，我的to read单子也太长了，总之，读书总比写感想更加有趣，所以就
一直拖下来了，转眼这一年就要过去了，趁着版庆机会，就写个读后感吧。

我最先对于David Mitchell感兴趣，还是在读了他的《云图》以后。在看电影之前，我
匆匆把《云图》过了一遍，对于他的写作风格，他对文字和情节的驾驭，非常欣赏。首
先，这部云图，且不说所谓的后现代的结构手法，就是他对于不同的genre的风格和路
数的掌握，就令人叹为观止，所谓写什么像什么，这是匠艺精深的一种表现。正所谓，
没有匠艺，哪里来大师？很多人往往对于匠艺持否定态度，认为匠人不是真正的艺术家

快。这两周超级忙，中间只是上来发了次包子。过去的周末终于跑到三百多公里以外的
湖边晃了晃，回来照片又没时间整理。
读完了搏击俱乐部，连同前一本天下骏马，都没怎么有时间做“后续”。我的习惯是，
读完了一本小说，上网搜看关于这本小说的评论，视频，采访等，一方面是和其他读者
相印证，一方面是自己再消化，再品味，然后跑到这个坑里随手灌两笔。
Fighting Club 之后在读同事借的这本 The Thousand Autumns of Jacob de Zoet，这
同事是英国人，说小说作者 David Mitchell 是他最喜欢的作家。Mitchell是69年出生
的年轻英国作家，04年的 Cloud Atlas 比较有名，我在Goodreads的根据用户信息列出
的推荐里头见过，所以有些印象。
然后就是读，整整20天，一部分原因是因为忙，另一部分原因是这书的写作风格和故事
情节都算不上我最喜欢的那种类型，读起来没有那么如饥似渴。今儿晚上总算读完了，

感谢Booker的简介。上个星期六拿到了这本书，到昨天终于结束了。在不剧透的前提下
，说一下感想。
首先，简要介绍一下作者，David Mitchell。英国人，算是“青年”作家，1969年生。
有写古怪小说的历史。他的第一本小说，《Ghostwritten》，也是一本很古怪的作品，
跟这本《云图》有些类似，据说没有《云图》这么老练，毕竟是处女作。
前两年的《New Yorker》上有他的2010年新书《The Thousand Autumns of Jacob De
Zoet》的Review，把他跟Eco和Nabokov比较。据说这本《The Thousand Autumns of
Jacob De Zoet》有一些海战的描写，让人想起Patrick O’Brian，另一个我很喜欢的
作家。这本新书讲述荷兰东印度公司跟日本的交往中的故事，又是一个我很感兴趣的题
材。这本书已经放到我的书单上了。
绕回来，接着说《云图》。这本书是2004年的作品，当年的Man Booker的Shortlist，
还有2005年的星云奖提名。

If any readers have doubted that David Mitchell is phenomenally talented and
capable of vaulting wonders on the page, they have been heretofore silent.
Mitchell is almost universally acknowledged as the real deal.
David Mitchell文字狠不错，高手。除了篇幅短点，有点Neal Stephenson的风格，行
文中略感一些Patrick O'Brian的味道。
