写一个中产家庭出身的女孩,拿了奖学金进了东北部的一个著名的贵族预科高中.
笔调非常灰暗,描写细致真实,看到那个女主人公在高中的靡滥生活,不免令人心酸.
////这个书评基本上比较忠实原作.
按《预科生》（Prep）的题材——美国中学生的成长故事——这部小说不太可能进入《
纽约时报》２００５年十大好书名单，成为其中五本年度小说之一。美国人讲的“预科
”，是指那些收费昂贵的私立寄宿学校，完全以学生进入名牌大学为目标，功能上相当
于我国的重点中学。笔者因《纽约时报》推荐而读，私心只想看看书中学生如何申请美
国长青藤大学，因为数次被人问到这方面信息。读完之后，却觉得《预科生》确实别有
特色。
作者柯蒂丝·西顿费尔德（Curtis Sittenfeld）写的是外乡女孩莉在新英格

wondering what you mean by Tax Preparation? According to Becker 2010,
chapter 4 doesn't spend many pages on tax preparation. Topics like " tax
return preparer issues" and "responsibilities in Tax Practice" cover no more
than 10 pages. I couldn't think of other places in Becker 2010 have
mentioned "tax prep“ related topics.
I don't have Bekcer 2011 to refer to, so if anyone has it, could it be

ILMN 的简单 library prep 是多大的竞争优势... 一个不稳定的 workflow
可以轻易毁掉一个几万块的 run, 还赔上几星期的时间。
PacBio RS 目前还没看到有任何人的使用报告。可能都是暗干在心里？ :)
Complete Genomics 的 library prep 会是他们的软肋，还有，他们会有
所有 SOLiD 有的问题, 因为他们也用 oligo ligation.

环节不同而已。文章中更侧重的是sequencing本身这个部分，你所说的则是sample
prep过程以及sequencing，但如果出问题不容易确定原因在哪个环节。所以如果有钱烧，最好是都做，即sample prep也做technical replicates，然后到sequencing时，对上面的两者分别再做technical replicates。不过据我的经验，technical replicate现在已经意义不太大了，有这钱还不如多做几个biological replicate。 |

就是在transfection后，有这个supernatant去infect健康的细胞（在T75里）。然后看

好都不行了），其他的都是很显而易见的优点。最大的优点就是sample prep简化，说
是只要6个eppendorf管子。将来还要简化成一步即可的sample prep。加上它的快速性
，基本上任何需要快速知道结果的测序工作它都是首选了。另外，长序列在很多时候有

strand specific:
1. strand-specific or not 不影响mapping，因为不管用什么protocol，出来的reads
map到哪条strand都算。再算gene expression的时候才会用到strand information，
具体怎么count reads to gene, 这个要取决于你的strand specific library prep
protocol
2. 拿tophat/bowtie来说，mapping的时候有一个选项--library-type，这个怎么选都
不影响mapping，但是一定要注意，接下来用cuffilink/cuffdiff和htseq-count之类的
，这个--library-type一定要添对了，这个影响gene expression的counting

Btw，
“每天收到上千个测序样品；3.一个肺腺癌样品，送到实验室，三个多小时之后，发现

这点感触很深。我们在学校里分析别人的NGS data，因为dry lab并不了解wet lab人家
整个的library prep和NGS的过程（比如这个数据是其他学校测的，或者这个数据放了
很久了，在我来之前就存在很久了）；所以只能自己先摸索下这个数据的情况，比如
fastq quality line是哪种format的。这样就挺耽误时间的。
所以你说的这种一条龙垄断其实才能提高效率。从上样到library prep到data
processing到pipeline分析都是流水线，就避免不同单位之间miscommunication导致的
时间浪费 |

作load很大，要牺牲自己的时间做事情的，尤其是新老师。做小学班主任的每天除了午
饭时间还有一节课的prep就是在教室里面教课，不同学科的都要准备课程和材料。教室
的每一个角落都要老师负责，就板报一样就很多活了，要定期更换学生各个科目的
product。一节课时间prep根本都不够批作业改卷子的，而且常常还要约见家长（有时
候是家长约见老师），给家长打电话，有的学校老师自己复印东西等等，这些杂活都要
老师自己干，干不完就知道背着东西回家做，或者加班，放弃午餐休息时间是再正常不
过的事。我一个年轻同事头一年的了胃溃疡，就是因为忙得午饭都不吃。
不同的学校工作量也不一样。前面帖子提到我们学校是Low performance school.我们
除了一般老师要做的，还要额外做很多。比如说每个学生必须有三个 1-inch 3-ring
binder，分别为数学，english language arts,和social studies and science.这些

with no additional compensation
for the sixth class. Traditionally, there is additional stipend for the
sixth class. But because of the recession,
everyone has to "contribute" (I was told the sixth class will be my "
contribution"). So, there will be four preps,
including two new preps, with no pay raise. Anyone shares similar experience?

找到考证的有关信息。
不过如果你是NBCT(National Board Certified Teacher)那就容易多了。不过要考NBCT
很麻烦的，花钱花时间，有很多Project要做。我知道的在职老师一般都是花上1到2年
时间才考到。不过考到以后工资会涨哦，呵呵。
不过一般如果只教中文很吃亏的。美国很多学校外文就只开Spanish或French，教中文
在大部分地区很难找到工作。就像LZ一样，多考个Math机会多一些。比如说如果那个学
校学中文的学生少，你就可以教3个prep的数学和2个prep的中文。:D |

are available only if one enrolls in its in-class prep course ($1100) and
constitutes the essence of the class. Every question is given a detailed
explanation about how it should be approached, why it should be approached in
a certain way, etc. Each test explanation is about 80-110 pages long.
It's very helpful. I can give several prep books away if you want to buy the
whole set.

Score, but not exactly sure.
Consider investing in a prep course. TestMasters is very good.
If you don't take a prep course, then get your hands on all the previous
exams. Then just practice practice and practice. Focus on accuracy first.
Don't worry about speed until about halfway through your preparation. |

postponed and postponed..... due to many distractions. But anyway, I am
satisfied with this score. During the prep, I discussed with people here, so
I show my thanks to these people and this forum. This is an encouraging
place and we see hope here! For the exam prep, I used the materials as many
others. I spent a lot of time on kaplan notes, I read FA 3-4 times, UW and
kaplan Q bank.

Well, can you tell me how many percent of svd women end up with a vaginal
tear, or a 侧切？ a well prep'd abdominal wound compare to a non prep'd
perineum wound, which one is more likely to get infection?
I have done several postpartum emergency hysterectomy(紧急产后子宫切除）,
all because of un-controllable hemorrhage after SVD. None result from C/S.
a few hundred CC of blood loss from every C/S is a non issue in pregnant
woman.

发帖数: 328 | 44 I do not think that ppl today are smarter than ppl 20 years ago.
20 years ago, the exams are relatively hard since internet is not so
advanced and prep materials are scarce. There were fewer ppl who can get
ECFMG certificate. Therefore, more ppl got matched.
Now the exams are seemingly easier since the world is wireless and there are
abundant excellent prep materials/Qbanks. There will be more ppl who can
get certificate. Therefore, less ppl got matched. |

my concern really is if joining a new lab works well for step 1 prep.
i don't think i can stay in the same place till all steps r done...i would
say one year at most after defense, so sooner or later i will have to start
job-hunting during the prep of USMLE...not sure what time is a good point...

发帖数: 76 | 46 I had that. I didn't use it and sold it on eBay for 200 dollars. It's too
much information and at the end of the day is not ideal for board
preparation. (to be honest I'm a big opponent of Kaplan's prep course, it
didn't help me at all during step 1 prep, more like a waste of time) |

发帖数: 77 | 47 I dont think you need to read the Kaplan LN, watch the video instead. Go
over everything once, follow by FA once, then get cracking with Qs. Rx +
Kaplan + UW that should land you in the 240 range easily. It worked for me
and my friends. Ive actually gone to Live prep, it aint great at all. Only a
couple of lecturer did good job, the rest was no different from the video,
One particular dick was actually better in his video than he was in person.
