本来想等事情尘埃落定才来发的，也好给挣扎的xdjms鼓鼓劲，不过现在看来有点变数
。索性就move on的同时把情况汇报一下以便参考吧。
除统计版外请勿随意转贴。
1.个人背景：半路出家的stat小硕，有SAS证书（感觉没用，啊哈哈）。学校尚可，地
方偏僻。没身份。
2.面的职位都是healthcare领域tech职位，用SAS做过这方面的小project。
电面有短有长，短的第一句就问身份，挂掉，长的达一个半小时，2对1，问得奇细。
电话里主要被问到的问题有：
自我介绍，谈谈project的概况，是否跟人合作，project里担任怎样的角色（出主意的
？牵头的？接任务的？），接触过多大的数据，什么level的数据，做过多少data
cleaning工作，建过哪些model，如何处理missing data等。可以概括为揪着简历上感
兴趣的地方拼命挖。
完了都没写Thankyou letter，因为总是忘记问Email，不过似乎不影响给Onsite。
Onsite去了两次，气氛都很好。个人感觉比较有用的做法是：
1）对公司的背景、行业的背景要多了解，公司网页做得乱七八糟的 |

能转为tenure track（因为有老师要退休啦，内部消息）, 所以visiting 的位置刚好
可以为你的teaching提高打基础，需要一些research,年度评审时大概teaching 和
research一半一半。
2. 地处中西部某Metro area，人口200万，房价25万能在最好学区买3000尺左右10年以
内房子（该学区华人多，州内排名前10），有华人超市3-4个，生活便利。这个

Scientist，也涉及到consulting的方面。背景是统计的master。
因为公司的分析组不是大组，而且没有特别擅长或者精通data science的人做leader，
所以感觉发展很受限，想寻找新的机会。在现在的公司积累了很多跟客户打交道，做
project，咨询的经验，现在做的比较多的是predictive modeling，cluster analysis
等等，也做过一段时间machine learning。
最常用的软件是R和SQL，我自己也会经常用SAS和Stata，自学过Python，Ruby，Matlab

furnace的旁边有个开关，关上打开之后，furnance会想，就像鼓风一样，但没有看见

等来了再跳CDC之类的吧
Atlanta比Albany NY强多了 况且你现在只有这个一个offer 也不好讨价还价

Alpharetta的环境还是非常好的 换人也很多 |

there's no point in asking for 1k or 2k, you can try to ask for 5k, but if
it's the only offer, might just take it. it won't make any difference after
two or three years.
