大四找工作时,赶上坏年景,我作为外地女生,留京尤其不易。我爸放下清高,全力托
人,在某中直机关为我找到工作,还是个能常出国的工作。留京有着落了,但我却没太
高兴,倒对读研心动。我妈很反对,说女孩子学历不能太高云云。这时候,我读了刘震
云的小说"单位",又读了首弗罗斯特的诗,"The Road Not Taken"(见过这版有人提
到)。
"单位"写新毕业的大学生小林面对机关里的琐碎和世俗-分东西、入党,提拔,互相
算计,庸俗丑陋和无奈。我读了,对单位心生厌恶, 不想做女小林或女老乔,只想离那
个世界越远越好。Frost的诗正相反,说在树林里,遭遇岔路,犹豫后,选了条别人不
大走的路,从此有了不一样的人生。 哎, 说到我心里去了: 年轻时的我, 就是不愿
意和大家一样。于是做了决定,放弃那个得来不易的工作,继续读书。
回头看, 我即使没读到那两篇东西,应该也会做那样的选择。只是它们叫我的选择更明
朗坚定。读研的日子很快乐, 至今我喜欢那个选择。但后来,我走的, 其实还是和大家
一样的路,所谓未能免俗。

《被选择的路》
森林里遍布着歧途
一不小心就迷了路
但我并不慌,我安慰自己
只要不慌歧途也是归路
高高的林木矗立在冬天
林木间是雪和火红的落叶
这森林之冬枯寂而又荒美
纵是歧途也有美景相伴
困顿中我终于发现了出路
远远的正是那熟悉的景致
但同时灌木后也传来野兽的低吼
它警告我这是它的疆土
兴奋中不免混入了恐惧
经过它就可以到达故土
但我却不知它是否凶猛残酷
我犹豫着,踏上了另一条路
如今,我依然在迷途摸索
但我并不慌,因为我相信
只要不慌歧途也是归路
静静的白雪上飘着火红的落叶
森林之冬枯寂而又荒美
森林中我曾遇见了两条路
一条凶险但可以到达家园
另一条安全却不知通向何处

再后面那句其实并不说明两条路一样:

In leaves no step had trodden black.
只是说那天早上的叶子都还没被人踩过,但无关路本身的新旧大小。
frost的诗很一唱三叹噢,那首miles to go before i sleep也是。

证。我可以肯定我是少数派。小时候摔跟头受委屈流泪就不提了,单是从十八岁到现在
,有记忆的流泪恐怕不下几十次吧。有的时候流泪是由于亲情、友情等环境的突变,比
如初次离家、亲人远行、朝夕相处的同学转眼要各奔东西。每天都拥有亲情友情时,并
不觉得如何珍贵。就像鱼生长在水中,并不觉得水有如何珍贵。鱼开始知道水的珍贵是
被人类的网和钓钩拉离水面的那一刻。同样,人经常也是只有在亲情友情远去或失去的
时候才觉其珍贵 – 那就是眼睛容易湿润的时候。十八岁时离家到北京上大学,独处之
时想起远方的空巢父母,视野就开始模糊。再看看周围的新生兄弟们都好像兴高采烈乐
不思蜀,觉得很不好意思。我流泪怕人看见,大概是下意识里觉得流泪的男人都是没出
息的货色。不过我现在想,我就是我,就算被别人认定没出息又奈我何,所以也就不怕
从回忆的箱子底抖出这些陈年旧事了。
有的眼泪是出于同情心或同理心。女儿生下来一个星期,到医院做PKU测试。护士把女

现代诗,根据我的浅薄理解,的一个重要内涵是:自由。看到上一句,你永远也想不到
下一句。整首看完,你能体会一个自由的灵魂在字里行间呐喊,无拘无束。至于这个灵
魂是浮躁还是沉郁、是抑郁还是欢快,诗句是如画还是如歌还是丑陋,都不重要,各自
有各自的美感。
从这个角度看,现代诗突破了“意境”这样一个纯技术的的境界,能够直接打击人心。
举例来说,古体诗描述乡村,好句子很多(很多好句子也体现“自由”)。然而现代乡村
诗可以全然不同、更加广阔。现代“乡村诗人”里我比较喜欢Rob Frost,比如他著名的

<题外话>
1) 约翰*济慈生于1795年。幼丧父母,由祖母抚养长大。他的弟弟汤姆1818年死于肺结核。济慈在照顾汤姆的过程中不幸被感染,两年后去世。死时年仅25岁。
2) 我第一次知道济慈是在进大学不久的一次诗歌社团活动。主持活动的师兄刚介绍完济慈的生平,下面立刻响起一个女生的轻呼:(这么年轻就死去)太可惜了。而我的第一反应是:济慈的祖母会非常、非常伤心吧。。。不知为什么,这个镜头一直在我的记忆里清晰地存在,而大学时代其他很多更重要的事情却慢慢淡去。
3) 济慈最著名的作品当然是<<夜莺颂>>。他本人学医。所有诗作几乎都是在去世前两年创作。下面翻译的<<希腊古瓶>>,直译的话是<<对一个希腊瓶子的颂歌>>,是济慈数首颂歌之一。我本人也是不久前才偶尔读到、认真欣赏。这是对一个希腊古瓶的怀古之作。古瓶上应该画着树叶、人物、村庄等等。

不错,看来tool company还是个well-trodden viable path,很受鼓舞呵呵。看
founder的简历,都是在公司做到高层后拉出来单干的,看来IP和non-compete在公司里
的问题也没那么严重?好奇有没有像adimab或者Cambridge Antibody Technology那种
PI搞出牛tech自己深度介入的。
