但是看到浩如烟海的529选择,非常没有头绪
另外我和LD都是投资新手,没有什么概念,想问几个问题:
- direct savings plan和broker sold savings plan有什么区别?看介绍说direct
savings plan要自己选择投资选项,难道就没有默认选项了?
- 每个plan的fee好像不一样,而且同一个plan的fee也不是固定的,这个不同plan到底
差多少?
- 不同plan的performance到底能差多少?好像亏钱是不管的?
- 如果以后回国了,这个钱不能用来交国内学费吧?
- 如果是non-qualified withdrawal, 是earning部分罚tax+10% penalty,本金不用罚
的吧?
我们就想要一个风险不大,fee比较低的选择。但是看到那么多的plan,不知道挑什么
好。
想问问大家挑plan主要都看中什么feature?另外有没有比较稳妥的主流选择可以推荐
给我们这样的新手的?

for scholarships later on. Well, if you are super rich and there is
absolutely 0% possibility that you are qualified for scholarships, then it
is a different story. It does have advantages as it is tax deductable and
tax-deferred.
Second, it will be the same price no matter whether you buy directly from
teh company or through broker. Broker get commission from the differene

income , 529 is included, but life insurance is not. So life insurance will
not affect your qualification for scholarship but 529 will.
cash value life insurance include VUL ( varaible universal life) and IUL (
Index universal life)

Second, even with double income, there is still a possibility that you get
financial aid, depending on how you allocate your assets. I have seen
several successful cases around me.
Third, for IUL or VUL, they do have risks. As they are really long-term plan
, if you cancel it earlier, you are going to be subjected with huge
surrender charge ( like early termination fee). So if you are short-term
oriented, forget about it.
