BMW: no warranty, 53,000 miles >50,000.
Acura TL: Certified, 5 years and 62.000 miles.

My long time old friend Volvo could NOT pass the smog check this time, and
it has some other annoying intermittent problems as well. It’s getting
quite old. How old? Ok, it is a 1996 Volvo 850. But it looks very pretty w/o
any exterior defects. So I sadly decided to retire it, instead of repairing
it. By doing this, I will get a $1k bonus from the Calif Gov. Its
registration expires at the end of this March, so I need a replacement as
soon as possible. It was the

One is: many years ago, my boss had a car accident. The car Toyota, Camry
station wagon with 55,000 miles total lost. Insurance pay him $64,000. He
gave me the car for free. (He knows I may fix myself). I pay about $1000 for
bump cover (new), right side fender, right side two doors from junkyard. I
changed all body parts and paint the whole car. After about two years I had
a car accident (not my fail). The insurance pay me $4200. I just bring the
rear bump up li

- Driving a free car, and earning big money twice.
My wife's car was hit a dent in a parking lot by a new woman driver with
only a permit but w/o a drive license. A BMW shop estimated that the repair
cost would be $2,000, but the insurance company of that driver only paid $1,
500 with a list of reasons. I popped the dent out, not perfect tho. We used
the $1,500 buying 2 flight tickets to China.
