team members for a 12-13 mile run, in which they will go at 6:45 pace (but
they would always go faster than the pace they claim they would run), or to
join others for a 20-miler. So I opted for the 20 miler. Among us there is a
girl from greater boston track club who is targeting 2:56 at Boston this
year. Another tough guy running in VFF Bikila. He bandits boston every year.
We headed to Newton, had a grand tour of heartbreak hills and also the
final few parts of boston marathon course. The fast girl had achilles
problem after 15 miles or so and left early. The bikila dude and I decided
to go on and make it a marathon. We ran for 24+ miles together, and
combining it with the mileage I ran to the start of the group run, it was
over 27 miles. That was a great workout. Though, it probably means that I
have to take it easy, really easy, at next Saturday's 50K in Oakland! |

walgreen to buy drinks. we were certainly going faster than 8 min miles for
most part, under 7:30 at some point but may have slowed down to 8 min pace
at the end. I don't wear GPS any more so I don't know the exact pace.
