Today I had a 12.7 mile medium long. Finished at a warm and windy day.
Now I had two excited first time achievements: 1. First time ever to run 7
days in a week. 2. First time to break 50 miles in a week.
Total distance: 50.4 mi
Total time: 6:52:02
Now trying to focus on running as the ski season is almost over in NE.

well, I need to build up the mileage, at least keep 50+ per week.
My race is only 8 weeks away, so I have to get ready.

Are you planning for a half? You might not push yourself too much if the
race is the goal...

no, this is gonna be a full marathon. A half is much easier to prepare.

I found that I fare much better by running fewer days but with good quality
each time. With the exception of long runs, basically when I feel that I'm
not ready to run at least as fast as MP, I'd just take a day off. On the
treadmill, if I don't feel good going at 7 min pace, I'd just quit and call
it a day. I try to get my legs used to faster pace so that on the race day
the race pace would feel easier. The downside is perhaps that I won't get as
much a boost from tapering. Will see how it works.

For ultra, I will still focus on doing a single very long run each week
rather than piling up a lot of daily mileage. My current view is that the
best way for the body to absorb the workout is, well, to sleep and not to
run.:)

sure, only when the weekly mileage increases to a certain point, you will
need to run every day, or even twice sometimes.

我也这一样。感觉恢复也是跑中的重要一环,宁肯多休息,也别跑伤了。
从来没有一周跑超过6天的人飘过。

I did not have any quality run yet, long, tempo, or interval. Not in that
shape yet.
Hope to pick them up next week or so.
