不知道一切的猜想都有是怎么来的,但总是有个由头。
其实我看的书里解释说所有的英美的基督教会都很深地受到了Arminianism的影响。
在来美国之前根本没有想过什么这个宗那个教的问题,是到这里之后才知道原来一切
这么复杂。因此找到一个听得下去的教会有的时候真的不容易。
其实加尔文的那五点,或说是后人帮他总结的那五点不是凭空出来的,那也是经过上千
年的论辨,流血的总结。因此我很同意唐崇荣的说法,西方社会在神学思想上比中国教
会成熟得多。那这么多的东西放在我们的面前我们自然也有一个取舍的问题。我也没有
答案给别人,但是我因为信,我相信神会给每个人特别的引领。
我没有留意,Knuth能发现文本字句的错误是怎么在各个版本之间蔓延的,是怎么说起来
的。告诉我一声,我英文不好,一天看一点儿,也正好到第四章。我最想看到的是他怎么
把他属神的生活与属世的生活重新结合起来的

我也不熟悉Arminianism那5点的具体提出,加尔文主义据说是针对这5点的反驳。
西方神学思想这么多年肯定分支很多。总体思想是一方面,但是具体施行起来分歧很多。
我能听得进去的是那类类似心理咨询的讲道,也就是重点强调拯救,而不是强调强权控
制的讲法。换句话说,我并不信那些反理性的信仰,但是利用宗教可以安慰、激励、启
发人。当然,这是我作为不信的人的看法。我并不用信仰指导生活,我这么去接触基督
教也没给我生活带来变化。
Knuth第三章里评论文本字句翻译错误的具体话我找不到了,但找到一个例子,68页提
到Jonah 4:6 里的植物,翻译成希腊文的时候翻译错了,Saint Jerome翻译拉丁文版
本的圣经的时候,用了正确的字,然后Saint Augustine就写信试图说服他别找事儿,
Jerome拒绝了。
我看Knuth的书,主要是看他怎么做事的,的确非常地道,不像我什么都打马虎眼。前
面几章都是介绍具体做的事情,后面几章应该有很不错的更深入的探讨,不过我估计我
看得会很慢。

within the Christian context. If the Bible is our authoritative guide, one
must believe that God is sovereign. It is not unlike the issue of
predestination. That God predestines people to salvation is not up for

脚煮姐姐基本上说的都对,
俺想补充一点,就是在华人的圈子里,加尔文主义算不上主流
和加尔文主义相对的另一个大宗派,是路德宗(也叫信义宗,福音派,德国的马丁路德
开创的),这
是新教的两位始祖,Arminianism的华人好像不多
像belief和trust的很多基,都是福音派,主要强调的是圣经无误。
另外呢,大部分的原教旨主义(基要派)也称自己是福音派的,其实是差不多的,
个人感觉“原教旨主义”本身很像个贬义词,所以一般不太爱往自己身上说。
但福音派和加尔文主义的区别还是比较明显的。
比如:福音派是因信称义;
加尔文派也说因信称义,但实际是因上帝的选择成义。

分人预定得

The Great Synod Of Dort (Dordrecht)
The persisting theological differences eventually involved the government in
an internal battle between political rivals. The Calvinists won out, Prince
Maurice siding with them, and followed up by replacing magistrates sympathe
tic to the Arminians. This paved the way for the national synod which, after
letters sent inviting foreign representatives, was then convened at Dordrec
ht on November 13, 1618, and lasted into May of the following year.

━━神与人和好的妙计
一、序言
神学家D. Hague谓:“救赎是基督教最高贵的表现,亦因为此点,基督教非仅是启示、
伦理的宗教,而是独一无二、与众不同的宗教”〔注1〕。新正统神学家E. Brunner亦言
:“认识十架就是认识圣经,亦等于认识耶稣基督”〔注2〕。
除创造外,救赎可算是神最伟大的工程,况且救赎更在创世前早已为人预备妥善(弗1:
4),可见神爱人之心是何等的长阔高深、溯源长远。
二、救赎的前题
救赎的前题分为两方面,一与神有关,另一与人有关:
A.与人有关━━救赎是因人的景况
1.先祖的罪━━据创2-3章所记,亚当夏娃犯罪,于是丧失永远生命,死亡中止他们与神
亲密的关系。惟他们是神爱心的创造、精心的杰作,神不愿罪剥削他与人之间的相爱,
神主动要与人和好,逐订立了“和好如初”的救赎大计。
2.世人的罪━━全地的人因亚当之故被圈在罪中(罗5:12),任罪宰割。圣经多处指出
,世人因始祖之罪,亦因神的咒诅,生下来便是罪人(参论罪篇),等待神之审判,除
非人愿意接受神的救赎,否则人永远沉沦。

最近看到有网友批评永生,认为他信仰的Calvinism鼓吹预定论(i.e., 只有一小部分人预定得救),这种想法与耶稣的大爱不符,是邪恶的云云。我觉得这是不公正的。
我这么说,大家可能会吃惊。因为我是一个Deist,信仰神是爱,神爱每一个人,而且人类是一个休戚相关的整体。我的信仰,比起反对Calvinism预定论的基督教Arminianism(认为只要相信耶稣的人都可以得救)更要liberal很多。那么,我为什么要替永生兄弟鸣不平呢?
这是因为,作为一名Ex-Christian,我深知永生兄弟所持的观点,是mainstream
Christian的观点。Okay, 人数多不一定代表对,这我当然知道,当年我在教会的时候,就因为坚持人人都能得救的universal观点被视为异端。更重要的原因在于--Bible完全支持永生兄弟的观点、也就是Calvinism 的观点。

非常理解丝丝的意思,前几天我和一位版上的教友交流,我提出的想法和你基本一样,
我预感到加尔文其实是“对”的。对圣徒的拣选,这个应该是“正确”的,版上几个非
主流教友也同意。而对部分人的弃绝,所谓的“双重预定”,我觉得还是“错”的,我
苦于圣经知识不足。
我一直避免和几位加尔文派翻脸,私下和他们都交流过,我相信他们都是和我们一样的
,思维正常,心理健康,努力奋斗,热爱家庭。我得出的想法是,中国人失去了文化自
信,基督教的那一套对人的思想改造是有效的。
我在尝试的就是进入基督教的思维系统,看看能不能注入国学思想,看看能不能在价值
观上与传统信仰融合。我也认为文化自信是解决问题的关键,只要国人对自己的传统信
仰有信心,就不会走进基督教的价值观。

to semi-pelagianism with respect to salvation.
The bottomline of discussing such a problem is: work-salvation is not
Biblical no matter how "small" the work is (like saying a little
prayer) or how "big" the work is (living a "holy life" like mother teresa).
Salvation comes from the LORD.

看基督教内部讨论加尔文主义和阿米念主义还是很搞笑的,因为这涉及思考,需要自主
判断,没法有个放诸四海的准则。
这5点问题,都是神学推理下很自然的问题,我得承认,加尔文主义的这5点是正常的神
学推论应该有的结论。但是太残酷,所有受不了这么激进的结论的人,大概出于直觉的
良心选择阿米念主义。
