board personnel I've ever met!
Regarding the show, the interesting part would be that I actually enjoyed
the latin dances more than the standard dances. And I'm actually not
surprised by this either.
I've never seen Bryan and Carmen dance before. Glad that i got a chance.
They are obviously not in prime competing condition any more, but still just
great to watch, and the added grace and confidence because of experience

本村一个四个，东南西北各一个，都是 the city of chicago 范围内哦， 郊区偶不了
解的。
一。东边的 —— The Joffoery ballet of chicago

其实这个也不算东面啦，就在 State 和 Randolph 交接的地方， 捞面隔壁
Joffoery 是我个人最喜欢的 dance studio，装修建筑风格偏 modern 的，
dance master 比较年轻，而且多元化，我碰到过几个 非 native ，但是编舞非常精巧
从宽敞的大落地玻璃窗，晚上的话，看出去，街上的风景超美的。
非常小班教学的，Joffoery 比较主打的是芭蕾课。
他们的 Academic 还是非常强的， 当然如果你年龄已经超过 18 岁，就只能去 上上
adult 芭蕾了，不可能走 professional 的路线了。

土风舞简介 (改编摘录)
土风舞一词是由英文Folk Dance翻译而来，它的形成受地形、气候、生活习惯、历史背
景等影响而产生各种独特的舞姿。例如南洋一带印尼、印度、夏威夷等地的土风舞几乎
没有跳跃的动作，而全是摆动身或扭扭手睕的动作，因为在接近赤道的地区气候炎热，
如果不停的跳跃恐怕几分钟就支持不住，反之在寒带国家的土风舞都是跑、跳，旋转等
运动量大的动作，但也有极少数的，例如俄国的亚历山大舞就是一种宫廷式的华士舞，
动作极为柔和，墨西哥的传统舞蹈—帽子舞却是相当激烈。有些相邻的国家如德国瑞士
因地形气候相似故他们的舞蹈几乎相同，相反的同是斯堪地那维亚半岛上的瑞典及芬兰

ballroom dance的重要方面
1.音乐。没有对dance音乐的理解，跳不好舞。
2.基本功。基本功是最重要的，没有基本功，无法表现一个舞蹈。

今天刚刚带女儿参加了dance recital，很有意思，也有一些感想。我女儿在preschool
参加了一个dance class，是一个小dance school 的两三个老师开的，她们到周围的十
几个preschool上门教学，每年这个时候搞一个recital，相当于年度汇报演出。这次有
十五个班参加，绝大多数小孩是3-6岁的小女孩，也有几个男孩。每班最多十五六个学

感想一：老美确实是鼓励小孩表现，同时又强调重在参与。小孩们的表演很可爱，但水
平不能说高，很多搞笑的场面。一排小孩在做旋转，中间却有几个小孩不动，左看看右
看看，明显忘了做什么动作。一排小孩向前走，有的小孩却向后走，意识到不对后赶快

的地方是：要付出更多的时间和金钱。我家宝宝今年要参加五次比赛。妈妈要帮忙化妆
、做头发。上课费用占所有花费不到一半儿，还有服装费、competition fee，还要去
其他城市比赛 travel 的费用。我们今年所有费用大概是 3000 块多点，基本是队里大
多数孩子的水平；还有一些有独舞、双人、三人舞的，或者多一个 team dance 的，花
费更高。
我家宝宝每周上课时间是四个半小时，刚刚符合要求。队里有孩子一周八小时的课，天
天去，非常有 passion。
好处是，很有集体感，基本上所有队里的孩子都很喜欢进队。平时在一起时间很多，都
是很好的朋友。我看到的情况：参加舞蹈队的小孩儿没有不喜欢跳舞，非要家长 push
去的；练钢琴的小孩儿没有一个不需要家长 push 的。宝宝进队后，我就对她钢琴不是
很重视了，反正有点儿爱好就行了，还不用使劲儿。
我个人很喜欢让孩子跳舞，觉得对女孩儿来讲是最好的运动，而且感觉也算 team

发帖数: 180 | 45 今天的舞会圆满结束，也有一些不足，作为经验教训总结一下。
总共到现场的人员超过50人，最高潮的7：30-8：00pm左右大概在场的有30-40多人
，绝大多数人能够在带动下进入舞池跳舞。从来的人数角度，本次舞会还是挺成功的。
硬件方面：我们利用所有资源，学生会提供的六个音箱（包括两个落地的大的低音音箱
），音响效果虽然比不上跳舞酒吧里的低音震动效果，但是这已经是在现有条件下能取
得的最好效果了；舞会采用黑池，4个彩灯，还是有烘托出一定舞会气氛。
软件方面：DJ. Daxin精心准备了很多劲爆蹦迪的舞曲。从食物准备上，我们准备了四
盒large Pizza和许多零食饮料，临走时薯片和饮料还剩下一些。能够满足到场人员最
基本的食品需要。
不足的方面：
1，热场的时间有些长，同学分批而来，大家都比较含蓄，调动起来需要一番努力。以
后需要组织者进一步想好策略，多一些集体游戏，调动大家积极性。
2，通知还没有到位，还有一些同学不知道我们的舞会，或在当天已经有活动安排，以
后要早早通知，舞会临近了再提醒。
感受：
同学们在异国他乡打拼很辛苦，我们是要多组织一些联谊社交的活动，如舞会。同时大

dance floor. 20 feet high ceiling and wonderful table set up.
Starlight in Santa Clara
- Combined three dance floors, it is larger than Grand ballroom. The walkway
split the dance studio and it can be shared by several different group.
