When the total length of a SUV and minivan is the same, why minivan has more
storage room?
This is b/c SUV has a longer head, therefore longer buffer zone for survival
during a crash.
And SUVs are generally heavier, therefore they are safer ( of cause you may
need
to pay more for gas). |

shift knob. This generation of Touareg is lighter, safer, will be much more
reliable than the last generation. The VW V6 TDI engine is the exact same
engine Cayanne TDI equipped with, mating with the exactly same ZF 8AT, which
means you are paying half the price for a water-down Cayanne Diesel except
of its fancier interior, electronic goodies and optional-and-expensive
locking diffs.

total MSRP 48.7K. I checked the inventory at dealer. no msrp below 50k.
touareg lux msrp about 50k.
2014 grand cherokee same package, limited luxury package(including moon roof
, backup camera,navi...), msrp at 45.8k. this one is close. but it is new,
you can not get it at 36k before TTL.

than the ES. I remember the rule of thumb is that bigger cars have some
advantage over small cars. Thus, I just wonder that slighter larger and
heavier ES 350 - with the similar price range - would be more or less safe
compared with BMW 3 series. This may help me deciding the next car purchase
in terms of safety. Thanks. |

suvs better configurated, e.g. transmission, 4WD, airbags, stability control
usually, those vans have outdated powertrains (4 speed?) and poor safety
features (no curtain airbags for rear?).... of course, rednecks won't care
if you don't have 4 kids, 4 parents and 2 huge dogs to drive around, the suv
is probably the safer choice |

Diesel engines cost more because they require added equipment such as a
turbocharger to make power levels close to a gas engine. They also need
heavier-duty internal components to stand up to higher compression ratios.
This doesn’t mean that diesel doesn’t have strong proponents, most of whom
talk about the long-life of the engine, its towing power, and acceleration.
(It is these advantages that explain why long-haul trucks use diesel.)

SUV will be safer in head-on collision situation, but how many accidents
are head-on collisions? SUVs are heavier and taller, therefore they are
harder to manuver and more prone to skidding and toppling. |

this also goes to mb, too much aluminum on the new a6 to save weight.
also goest to MB... MB is heavier and softer.
go with MB if performance is not top consideration
MB is similar because of it is also a rwd or 4matic car.

如果你车相对 larger size and heavier 你处于优势

independent source (and your brain) rather than commercial propaganda. I
wouldn't comment on which is safer but in general it's not wise to spend the
extra money on heavier vehicles that you feel comfortable to afford.
According to IIHS: "Side crash test ratings can be compared across vehicle
categories."
If you really think about physics, the severity of a damage in a side crash

ML vs GLK really depending on your family needs. since you already have a
minivan, size shouldn't be too much of an issue for u. if GLK I would

I want to mention it in the first place, nobody said a volt deserves to be a
cheaper car compared to a prius. A volt is better in almost every single
way than a prius - advanced technology, quite driving, fast acceleration,
better build quality, incredible suspension, much longer life span, heavier
body and thus better safety ...., except for the limited seating and cargo
