这是因为前者和医生离得更近。这个道理很显然。
neuroscience的phd的可以发cell neuro 甚至NS --但我个人认为价值不大 --大部分是
在扯蛋 不如 JAMA-neurology/psychiatry 和 lacent -neurology 以及 专业临床期刊
比如Alzheimer's Disease & Dementia, schizophrenia bulletin 等等

81hr for neurology . If I combine the total hrs （54+81=135〉128）, it
should be fine.
However, I noticed that it requires "direct, hands-on diagnosis or treatment
of patients in a clinical setting". Our hours on the transcript must
include the lecture hours which probably won't be qualified.
How do you solve the problem? Thanks a bunch. |

EQ throughout the interaction with her.
But as Frankly pointed out, it is mainly applied to Psychiatry or maybe some
other specialties, like Neurology etc.
For people with strong research background, you will have a lot of advantage
when applying for University-based programs in Psychiatry, especially those
with strong research or wanting to expand research. I would recommend the

TREATMENT FOR PSYCHIATRIC DISORDERS 的ASIAN 比例很小。

什么时候联系program? 9月1日前, 12月早期或晚期 (因为一些AMG会在12月取消面试)
, deadline前两周.
面试 1周1-2个比较合适, 3个也可行.
Psychiatry没有prelim.
NOVA2009 (IM)
考完第一步后, 可以开始OB 和写PS. 如果没有connection, 可以找当地的医生做OB,
每次早上给医生护士带一些点心, 能帮忙的时候就尽量帮忙. 找自己开诊所的医生可
以让你有hands-on经验. PS一定要有自己的故事, 需要经常去想, 整理自己的思路.

正如住院医恩仇录里写的那样，住院医系统等级森严，不同的attendings和senior
residents 对同一类的病人可能会有不同的治疗方案，听谁还是不听谁的，常常会左右
为难。有时明明不是你的问题，却替人受过，尤其是碰到又懒又拎不清的senior
residents。有人认为psychiatry is easy, while psychiatrists have the highest
suicidal rate among all kinds of physicians. Also Psychiatry is a very small
society, everybody knows everybody, if a resident gets bad evaluation from

的。FM/psych combine的program 一般会喜欢candidate 谈 intergraded care or
community/public psychiatry。 在这些领域里， 内科和精神科的交叉很多。 虽然很
多FM/psych combine的后来都做psych， 但是你可以说family medicine 的training可
以如何让你更好地服务病人。 你可以挑某个病种在某个特定人群，比如mood disorder
in immigrant。一旦你交了答案，一定要做research, 面试时如有问到， 你就可以谈
。 预备1分钟答案和5分钟答案。

讲讲毕业后就业：
精神科是所有的科室里最容易找到的理想工作之一的。接下来的5-10年内依然是到处都
非常缺精神科医生。现在是黄金时代。其他专业，都可能有很大波动。比如放射科，目
前就业就处于低谷。精神科住院医毕业后可以选择：
1. Self private practice
2. Group practice
3. Work for community hospital
4. Work in teaching hospital
5. hospitalist (7on and 7off , 12 hours per day)
6. work in State Hospital (Only psychiatry has State sponsored hospital)
关于收入
这些都有统计调查公开的数字，可以在medscape 上查到。
Psychiatry 收入低于 Pathology and Surgery。

发帖数: 705 | 36 11. Drug abuse, alcoholic 在美国精神科病人人群中是非常大的成分。我工作的
州是重灾区，我自己就有100多这样的Active patient。我在主持一个丁丙诺非项目，
在帮助这些病人。美国人对医生99.99%是非常尊重的，所以不存在受威胁的问题。
12. 我的典型的常规工作：我只做门诊，每周40小时。有一天带PGY3住院医生，半
天也带medical student。其他时间自己看病人，要自己写note。通常第一个病人 9am
，最后一个病人一般约在3:30pm。周二开始的早一个小时。有时会加病人到4点。然后
花半个小时把note完全完成后再回家。中午休息1小时。我们是教学医院一个新病人1个
小时；通常 private practice一个新病人是 30-45分钟。
13. 申请双科的话，你的材料准备要有艺术。当被问起是否申了双科的话，Honest
，但要有讲话艺术，自己想清楚了怎么说。我见过FM 或内科和精神科一起申请的。但
病理和精神科就比较远。

The TCA recommendation was not based on the Beer's list.
Antidepressants have been used for insomnia for long time, and TCAs have
been most rigorously studied compared to the other antidepressants. There
are a lot of review articles available for search through PubMed if you are
interested. TCAs are definitely appropriate options using at low dose and

coverage, all psycho patients have to be transferred.
I don't think they are going to kick you out but they probably have some
concerns about you, not necessory about the language. Nevertheless, take it
seriously and do something which you can prove to your PD: I've made my
