0.文章开头有一段无关的，英国贵族如何在生育上超过贫民的讨论，算是引子。
1.中国的考试文化，由于基数过大，尚不足以造成生物学意义上的进化选择压力。(我
觉得其实是有的，这里作者没有定量讨论，只是hand wave了一下，而且在文化上，考
试属于全民性的活动，文章里也有能考试对于讨老婆的优势的论述)。
2.中国的“分家”传统在农村造成地主/富农后代经济地位的快速下降，从而中国传统
农村的繁衍竞争压力大大超过其他文化，所谓能剩下来的都是人精。作者虽然没有明说
，但这个因素造成的优胜劣汰的压力是很明显的。
3.中国长期稳定的王朝和平时期，人口接近饱和，农村的生存压力主要来于对食物生产
/土地拥有权的『和平的、强调秩序的』竞争，使得后代拥有勤奋、智力、守序的『优

to rural. Urbanlization reflects changing in social structure and
industrial structure. I don't think itself is anything wrong. If
urbanlization increases the productivity, then it has to be done.

area (i.e. not allowed to trade lands, etc).
I feel it is unsustainable because the wealth-divide between the urban and

For rural areas, usually it's an environment good for raise kids, public
school is better, and in the US rural areas are not much disadvantaged
compared to urban areas: in terms of basic things, transportation,
communication, entertainment. This is true esp. for college towns.
I do think there are fewer choices of extra-curricular activities, and
private schools in rural areas. For instance, I looked at a college town

及著名华人篮球明星巴特尔分别通过视频送上祝辞。另外，郎郎还捐出本人签名的CD/
DVD，以及四张他本月30号在卡内基音乐厅举行的音乐会门票参加拍卖。门票得主将有
机会在音乐会结束后的小型招特会上跟郎郎见面。

在美国，Interstate Highway分为Urban Interstate和Rural Interstate。Interstate
的mileage也主要是Rural Interstate的（Interstate between Cities). 而美国的
Rural Interstate，也主要都是4-lane Divided （or 2 lanes each way）。中国不也
是4-lane Divided 吗？
就是美国的Interstate的长度，也是用Linear Mileage来统计的。看看这个吧：

你说的用总面积，那叫Lane Mileage。（Lane Mileage = Linear Mileage x Number
