Egyptian reporters on cable TV channels were reduced to tears as they sought
to convey their happiness.
But many questions remain about what comes next — and there are strong
doubts about whether military rule will lead to the demonstrators' ultimate
goal: a credible transition to democracy.

By Jan LaRue
Bill O'Reilly's interview of President Obama on Fox News just prior to the
Super Bowl confirmed that he remains a self-absorbed leftist.
Now that he's ardently denied moving to the political center, maybe pundits
and Republicans like Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) will finally get it, unless
they naïvely believe he's been there all along.
Obama's responses qualified for more penalty flags than were thrown during
the game. His reaction to the crisis in Egypt is similar to his comme...

The 15-year prison sentence given to a woman and her seven children by an
Egyptian court for converting to Christianity is a sign of things to come,
according to alarmed human rights advocates who say the nation's Islamist
government is bad news for Christians in the North African country.
A criminal court in the central Egyptian city of Beni Suef meted out the
shocking sentence last week, according to the Arabic-language Egyptian paper
Al-Masry Al-Youm. Nadia Mohamed Ali, who was raised a Chr...

More Foreign Aid to Egypt
March 04, 2013
One of John Kerry's first acts as Secretary of State is to follow through
with yet another gift to the radical regime now running Egypt. Egypt's
leadership under the Muslim Brotherhood – a terrorist organization -- will
be the recipient of $250 million in foreign aid, part of a deal promised by
the Obama administration in 2011. Here are some details from the New York
Times:
The aid announced Sunday consists of two parts. One is a $190 million
infusion for...

The act of murder is rampant in the Bible. In much of the Bible,
especially the Old Testament, there are laws that command that people be
killed for absurd reasons such as working on the Sabbath, being gay, cursing
your parents, or not being a virgin on your wedding night. In addition to
these crazy and immoral laws, there are plenty of examples of God's
irrationality by his direct killing of many people for reasons that defy any
rational explanation such as killing children who make fun of...

Cross-Posted at Pundit Press:
By now the comparison between President Barack Obama and former-President
Jimmy Carter is well established. Both Presidents came to power only after
the overhyped "death" of the Republican Party in 1976 and 2008, both
Presidents had promised renewed peace and talks with our chief (which both
failed), and under both Presidents, the economy faltered.
Yet, with uprisings in Egypt sweeping their nation,...

Egypt: under pressure
Markets in Egypt have been under intense pressure as street protests
continued for a third day yesterday. Equities prices have fallen by
16% since the protests began with trading briefly suspended at one
point yesterday. CDS spreads have widened sharply to 347 basis points
from 237 at the start of the year. The Egyptian pound has also been
under pressure, falling by almost 1%...
