Actually it was pretty joyful for me in the second half of Chicago marathon
last year although it was extremely hot.

Yes, this is exactly what I meant.
no matter how fast they ran, no matter how strong mentality they have got.
suffering is suffering.
When I was involving in high intensity tempo running, I felt nothing but
suffering. One can hardly really ENJOY this kind of suffering.

sounds to me, either he is not running all out, or he
hasn't even run one yet..

local (or close) race at the right time. BQ is the only goal. My new year
wishes are probably far away.

one can enjoy jogging a marathon, but can not enjoy suffering...
suffering is not meant to be enjoyed, that's it..
