it was a horrible round for me at the same course Roy Kizer (Yah, I just
shot -3 on Monday here.)
We started from back 9. I did pretty good through 7 holes. 3-putts at no.10
& no. 17 tho which came up with bogeys, (I did hit green for the two holes).
the 466 yards no.11 hole, most challangeing one in the course, was a skin
opportunity for me. I thought my ball rolled so great to the hole, it just
turned at the last inch. a par didn't help me win the skin.

还是套用兵法上的那句话，要知己知彼。
明白自己的长处和短处，尽量扬长避短。比如我自己的铁杆相对最拿手，击球距离较远
，只要球在球道上远一点打上果岭地百分比也比较高，所以开球时尽量保守。另外我不
喜欢长草，宁愿沙坑。
知道球场的特点，如果如果比赛最好先试打几次。每个洞都有既定方针，而且根据自己
的状态和天气情况。
举个例子，有一次和老师在场上选课，到了一个五百零几码的右拐狗腿型五杆洞，因为
以前打过许多次，有过不少birdies, 也有过eagle(当然也有过许多double bogey),所
以举杆就朝右拐的方向瞄准，老师马上拦住，问我，如果球偏右打失，会怎么样？我说
是OB。老师又问我，如果瞄fairway左边，球打失，会怎么样？我答，是长草，但球会
找得到。老师说，他打球的时候都是瞄左边，即使开球不好，也可以拿par，甚至可以
靠approach shot和推杆拿birdie，但是瞄右边，开球不好就是先失两杆。哪一个risk/
reward更合理，不言而逾。 |

birdies twice, bogeyed twice.
hit driver like shit, except last hole. body was too tired.
i just managed to get some up-and-down, and birdied the holes i am supposed
to do.
there are at least 6 birdie hole at the back 9. |

昨天，又上了一年前第一次PAR的那个9 hole course
89 yards against wind
i even birdie that hole once before, but not yesterday, bogey.
the pin location was different, that is obivious.
but the major difference, i feel, was that:
a year ago, i was glad that i can just hit the ball.
so without much of thinking, i played 9 iron, and it landed on green.
a year later, i picked pitching wedge, since my pitching can vary between 90
-110 on range now, it is getting very hard to control, not to mention the
wind |

She bogeyed two par-3 holes. Interesting, it matches my observation when
I played with a scratch player. long hitter has difficulty with short
par3, hehe.

amazing.
Poor Phil, Bogeyed 3 of last 5 holes, 2 shot behind the leader.
I still recommended several players' swing which are pretty similar for me.
Stuart Appleby, Lee Westwood, and Phil.
Vijay's backswing, is kind similar with what I tried to improve, his club
head falls too inside of his hands. (his downswing is pretty good.. )

City Championship.
The course is measured at 6600+ yards from tips. Today's setup is like 6000
at most. I hit only 2-3 times driver. My 3woods just found the fairways most
of the time.
I d-b #4 after I hit good tee shot & good approach shot. The club selection
could be wrong which left me 5 yards short. i got screwed from the freaking
5 yards.
I bogeyed the last 2 holes since it's getting complete dark already. So..

just keep in mind, "the best way to enjoy golf is not to 记成绩" that was a
suggestion of former raiders coach, john madden.
i tend to 记 which hole i birdie, or par, and which hole i did worst
i tend not to 记 those bogey holes, since it is just bench mark of my play.
to me, at the end of day, how many pars/birdies would really count:) |

you can always recover (or make up) the distance (say 10 yards difference)
with solid second shot.
once, i went out with my buddy at shoreline.
the 12th hole was acrossing a pond. i drove 220, land on the side of fairway
around the pond, my buddy drove 290 all the way to the greenside bunker.
skip the rest of the story, he end up bogey, and i finish with a birdie.
but it is very intimedating to play with a guy can drive 290.

usually, i use hybrid to rescue, which is from 180-210 for me. during
weekend gathering, i realized, without solid iron, it is very hard to manage
the course. my driver was ok, 230-240 on fairway, but, i found myself
constantly face 200, and i need pull my hybrid again and again. best case,
reach green side, and then one chip, 2 putts, bogey.
i know everything lead to working on swing fundamental, but as vankie said,
it would take long |

i had so many rounds without 3-putt. not a big deal..
it's not that difficult to manage to get free of worse-than-bogey round, it
doesn't mean i am gonna break 75. |

能是美国最好的会计专业，只有1年，这意味着他们的学业很忙，也就是他没什么时间
练习。
他在UT选的golf课，上了一学期。
我发现他和我打球，他的成绩不差，很多洞他能确保有bogey，成绩也许在45-50之间。
我认为这对只打了1年的人相当不错，well, 确切的说，他打球的次数更少。
我觉得他做的好的地方是，他的节奏很好，，就是保证球能直着出去，那怕是爬着出去。
我们这很多人都是从零开始学的，有很多学习的办法，我们都在这最有效的办法。
golf swing这个动作真得很复杂吗？ 看看电视里用的机器来击一个driver,就是那么一
下，当然机器有很多固定的部分，但机器击球那手臂没这样或那样的rotation等等。
我想说的，从基本的物理开始起，结合球杆的设计，特别是球杆面，多思考。

bogeyed 1st 2-holes since i didn't have any time to warm up. then d-b one
par-3 at back 9. birdied the last par-3. could be some chance for winning
skins.
it's really windy today. like 30 mph from north. it made so difficult for
playing back-9 since there are 5-hole in a row playing into the wind. for
one 420-yard par4, I hit driver+5wood (choke-down tho), my ball was just pin
-high.

first hole was good: 3iron straight to 180yards, 8iron deviate right side some to 130yards, one chip, 2 putts (1 lip out), bogey.
second hole total collapse, could not hit a damn good shot ever since. most
thin shots and roll on turf. i could not find reason and adjust. blame it to taking a phone call.
quit after 4th hole.
golf is a difficult sport, the only thing i could do is lower expectation.

. There is no way I can hit GIR on those long par 4s even if I hit perfect
shots. One would need 270+ yard drives to pass those bunkers, but I only
drive about 200-210. if you are not a long hitter, bogey or double on those
difficult par 4s are not bad at all.
BTW, what is the green fee? |

发帖数: 19471 | 24 赛程过半。早晨跟同事打了一个一个Par 29的9洞场，得到43杆，居然还是最好的一个
分数。很郁闷，同一个场地和设置上礼拜打了35。今天前五洞基本是搞笑，没有GIR，
数个double chip, 3 and 4 putts, 还straight pull入水一球。惨不忍睹。后四洞感
觉来了，一个par, 两个bogey, 最后一洞110码，直接用pitching wedge开到洞口5尺，
一推进洞得鸟。最得意的shot是一个在树和沙坑狭窄夹缝中的20-yard chip with 56
degree wedge，按计划bounce后借slope滚到距洞口10尺左右，2 putted and saved
par.
下午4点去上课，老师主要点拨了三条：
1，grip左手还要更nuetral.
2, take away 要进一步stay on the line
3, 要进一步通过锁定膝盖和plant right heel来保证stay in the center, 以尽量把
下半身锁住。
遵循以上几条，今天六号杆比较solid的时候可以上165码外的果岭，但是divot还不够
好，spin |

今年目标是铁杆打直打正.下场就不带driver了. 每洞按bogey 打.外加１０杆buffer,
争取进100.

跟好太多的人打球， 觉得自己像个傻子。 什么要领都忘了。 就想着别太没面子就行

跟高手, 他PAR，我BOGEY就成; PAR5他两杆上GREEN，我给自己的要求是: 3杆很好,只
要4杆就满意, 相对很轻松
上星期六跟我邻居打9洞, 老头，才练了一年，150YARDS的洞都用DRIVER的人
打起来压力非常大, 因为搞来搞去，好几个洞都差不多，有一90YARDS PAR3，人TEE
OFF ONLY 2 FEET TO THE HOLE |

发帖数: 19471 | 34 基本上是个灾难性的一轮，算上三个水球（同一个洞）的话上百了，创了近期新高。。
。但是一片哀鸿之中看到几点亮光：
1，在14个用木杆的tee shots中，命中了9个fairway。
2，有两个birdie opportunity，都是solid tee shots + solid mid iron approach,
然后被推杆葬送成了par和bogey。
3，short game有些不错的shots，比如第二洞一个越过bunker的60 degree wedge flop
shot放在洞口不远处，还有好像是第11洞的一个50码左右的long bunker shot，用9-i
ron上岭。
分数上来讲主要死在几个par-3上，对水障碍和大沙坑（里面种灌木那种）还是明显有惧

PGA event standard course, the level of play has to be higher. here is the
estimate:
bogey on par3, only 4 holes;
15% mishit for shot around 200 yard, long iron, or 5 woods (from rough);
10% mishit for shot around 130, short iron; and 40,50 yard pitch shot;
average 2.5 putt or short chip on par4 and par5;

以前自己打着玩的game，赢多输少。赢也不多，就$5, $10,最多一次$50. 主要是和pro
搭档。。pro就是那个champions tour winner。
我还最牛之处是，其他都可以很烂，但pro拿bogey的时候，我可以（大多时候）可以拿
par，或birdie， 因为和他打压力一直不小，最近才有些进状态，拿birdie远没有自己
大的时候多。。
昨天，pro因身体没来，和另外2人搭档，结果输那个惨。一个$10，另外一个$20。 主要
他两发挥太差。不是我挽救了4-5个洞，估计输得更惨。
我也messed up了2-3个简单的球洞。。可惜了。。 |

bogey, five par. Overall feel playing meet my handicap which is 15.
The green is very fast, so that any break count. I have to give slow speed
which lick out the cup due to those tiny break.
TPC course is over rated course, it is not worth $60 for summer afternoon of
Phoenix. |

发帖数: 904 | 45 80几杆是比较痛苦的，因为每次80多的时候都有破八的可能，经常是一两个糟糕的洞毁
了整个的分数。就拿俺今天这场球来说，10 over par，两个triple bogeys，坏了所有
低杆数的希望。其实今天如果推杆发挥正常，还是非常有可能低于80的，因为今天的
GIR是12/18， 另外还有一个是在果岭的fringe上，6尺内的birdie try有两次，7-15尺
有三次，还有几个15-25尺的，如果换一天推进三四个完全有可能，可惜今天全部无功
而返。看来这几天又要去练推杆了。 |

destructed yesterday. So now I'll need some beginner-friendly-and-self-
esteem-boost course in Bay Area. I wonder if I'm cut out for 18-hole at this
point.
And trust me, it is bad. On the bright side, I did record my first par by
sinking a 20-foot putt and closed out the front 9 with 1 par and 2 bogey.
But damn, back 9 ... I'd rather pretend it did not happen. |

pianerchuan-like stealth breakthrough.
pass 2 foursome group before me, finish 3.5 hours fast walk. 3 pars and 2 bogey. lipped out a putt at 305 yard par4 missing a birdie.
videoed my swing last week, make some adjustment on my left hand at impact,
hit driver (cleveland launcher W lady flex) incrediblely consistent and
straight (my standard). fairway hit 69.2%, even miss, not far off fairway.

Digest that talked about Zach Johnson's swing. He is only averaging 280
yards. You are not far from him. 69.2% fairway is just fantastic. I was
never able to get that high percentage. Last time I played was two weeks ago
. I only hit two fairways all day, but managed to get 94 out of the round,
which was my highest at that course.

发帖数: 517 | 50 Hit with MP-37 and X-forge 6 and 8 irons at Roger Dunns yesterday. The irons
came with R300 or S300 shafts. Did not have much feel but not so difficult
to launch the ball. No miss hit.
Are the blades really so difficult to hit? I am a bogey player. |
